Lively is a game changer. For what we need he's better than Wemby. I can't believe he's not credited with a block (per ESPN). He's changed the game with his interior off ball defense.
Tim is benefitting a lot from the faster pace and the drop in pressure coming off the bench.

Good on the Mavs doing what they should be doing.
Yesterdays game was an anomaly.

Is it me or is Lukas telegraphed bounce pass to split the double team getting ate up a lot more this season? It?s been getting kicked more often but refs aren?t always calling it.

I still haven't heard whether Harper retired or not? Is he officially gone from sideline commentating?

Some people on Twitter said that Folowill said on his podcast that there was a plan for Devin to split some of the games with Harp this season. I haven?t listened to it myself, so not sure about the details.

I guess it's time to talk about trading Hardy and Green for that final missing piece. I just don't think either have a role here anymore. Green can't score a point in 35 minutes.

His shot form is so bad. He?s naturally leaning for some reason and not squared up, and has the elbow pointed outward

The scary part about Lively is that he often plays like a seasoned vet as a 19 year old.
He's going to be a monster next season.

Lively is a sure thing. What a hit by the Mavs.
OMax plays scared (kind of like Green as a rookie), but you can tell the physical attributes are out of this world. If he becomes something Mavs are set.

I expected nothing from OMax this year but yeah I expect him to be much better years down the road. I like the toughness part of his game that he's going to bring on both sides.
I always liked Lively but I think I may have underestimated what his ceiling can be in this league. I thought Mavs would be ok with a at BEST Capela or Tyson Chandler. But his ceiling seems to be higher than that.

Yeah I think this is it for them. They won't have a bigger role here I don't think Kidd likes their game.
I'd hate to trade them but if Kidd is our coach I Don't see their roles increasing. Green should be getting 30 minutes a night and Hardy should be getting 6th man minutes. I do wonder what their trade value is though.

I'm not ready to give up on Hardy just yet. Green though, seems to have regressed quite a bit.

I?m not ready to give up on Hardy or Green, yet. It?s only been 11 games. I don?t mind trading them, though. THJ has been more deserving of minutes than either.

I'm cautiously excited about this team. Everyone has said this team seems to go as Hardaway goes and right now we are riding that huge wave.
Yes, others are involved, but it really seems when Hardaway is on fire, this team thrives.

To my eye, Green's on-ball defense still looks good. I would stick with Green unless we're including him in a moving for someone like OG.

To me, Green is the SG/SF version of Powell. Athletic as hell, Hustles like crazy, but somehow yields very little in terms of stats.
There is a value to that, but at some point we need some substantive production from them.

Oh I don?t want to give up on either but I?m afraid their roles won?t expand. And I don?t want to get into a situation like how the Lakers had Talen Horton Tucker and held on to him for too long when they knew his role would be limited on that team.

I think he?s capable I just don?t know why he doesn?t produce more. His skill set should flourish with Kyrie and Luka.

The problem with Green imo is that we now have some better options and he is losing confidence in his offensive game. I'm not sure Josh has the mental fortitude to take his game to the next level when he has equal or better competition to deal with.
DFS overshadowed him last year and prior years. His game took to another level after the DFS trade, but has regressed after picking up some decent wing FAs.

I think he's actually thriving because others are also thriving on offense like DJJ. Everyone seems to be in sync on that end and the ball movement is nearly flawless right now.

DJJ is the perfect fit here. Surround Luka and Kyrie with high-energy, hustling, defensive players and Luka can make them successful on offense.
DJJ had 20pts last night (10ppg on season)-- he averaged 5pts last year
Lively had 17pts last night (9ppg on season) -- he averaged 5pts last year.

It's funny how many thought Green should start over DJJ and the select few on here were excited for DJJ to start. That's why I stick around posting here because the opinions on here are still above move other places where Mavs is discussed.
And Lively works because he desperately fills a huge hole. I feel any semi-competent center would also do well because of that need and our other options here. Like, I'm confident someone like Drummond would be feasting if we didn't have Lively. And hopefully he can feast as our future backup...

Any fliers worth taking on Daniel Thies? More of a combo pf/c and at 6'8 we are probably good in that dept. But could provide some rebounds.
Wish we could see more of Holmes to know what he brings

What stands out about DJJ and to a lesser degree Exum is these guys have length and can get into the paint.
We have missed that so badly, guys that can dribble and attack a defense.

They aren't "box of rocks" players. Franky Smokes was that kind of player. Guys that are deer in headlights and don't know what to do with the ball.

Yeah he'd be a great flyer, but he wants to sign with Clips post buyout. It may already be done depending on source.

DJJ is basically a lanky more athletic version of Jae Crowder. Very similar stats.
Only issue is I don't know how we can afford to keep him unless he loves it here and plays for cheap.
