76ers' Coleman pulled over for speeding

.c The Associated Press

DETROIT (AP) - Philadelphia 76ers forward Derrick Coleman was pulled over by police for speeding in a Detroit suburb and taken into custody after refusing a breathalyzer test.

Coleman was stopped early Saturday, Farmington Hills Police Sgt. John Markey said Sunday.

Coleman, a Detroit native, was freed after posting a $200 bond.

In 2000, Coleman turned himself in after a warrant for his arrest was issued in North Carolina on charges of driving with a revoked license and using an out-of-state license while his North Carolina license was revoked.

Coleman, who played for the Charlotte Hornets at the time, had his license revoked because he refused to take a sobriety test after a car accident the previous October.

He was acquitted on drunk driving charges in that accident.

Coleman averaged 15.1 points and 8.8 rebounds during the regular season for the 76ers, and 12.8 points and 9.2 rebounds in Philadelphia's first-round playoff series loss to Boston.
