Default Larry Hughes

Quote:
If the Knicks do not trade Larry Hughes he appears willing to take a buyout of his $14 million contract.

Hughes continues to rack up DNP-CDs and said recently, "I can't get any more frustrated than I already am." His best chance at a trade would likely involve the Rockets and Tracy McGrady's monstrous expiring contract.

Now before you get ready to bash Larry Hughes just think at how great Jamal Crawford is playing for the Hawks, it could be the samething with Larry Hughes is you put him on a wining team, I'm only saying incase Hughes gets a buyout because there no way I would trade for him.

On the cheap - revive your career in dallas budget, I wouldn't hate it.

Don't we already have a "Josh Howard" on this team?

We don't need another one...

The problem isn't Josh Howard as much as it is Josh Howards salary.

If he made considerably less money things would be different in my eyes.

No, the problem with Josh Howard is that he's a loser in decline.

I'd agree about "salary vs. talent" if we were talking about Damp in recent years, but Larry Hughes is also a loser in decline so the money doesn't matter.

This team does not need any more losers in decline.

What defines a loser in decline? Anyone on our roster without a ring? In that case.... Just saying I don't have a hard on for LH but for minimum $, I wouldn't hate it.

Guys who never had a winning mentality and their talent level has long-since peaked (rings have nothing to do with it.)

We need players who are rising, not falling - what does the NBA think about Hughes?

06-07 Cavs
07-08 Bulls
07-08 Cavs
08-09 Knicks
08-09 Bulls
09-10 Knicks

Larry Hughes is a human yo-yo...

Most of our roster fits your definition of losers in decline.

I don't think the Knicks are going to do ANYTHING that adds 2010 salary right now, and they're not going to send Hughes' contract to any team that might be a competitor in the LeBron sweepstakes...so depending how big a buyout he's will to take, I can see him becoming free. If that happens, I wouldn't mind for the minimum, but he's no better than a spot player for us--which isn't what he wants.

That's not chronological, actually. he went from Cleveland to Chicago midway through 2007-2008, and Chicago to New York midway through 2008-2009. Not back and forth as it appears above.

Yeah, I've noticed nba.com screws that up a lot.

I wouldn't mind picking him up if he was dropped from the Knicks, mainly because he has face tattoos, which just makes him seem tough. I'd pick him up to a low contract just as an insurance policy, to be honest.

Great video btw.

If it was for CHEAP, maybe. I still think Iggy + Dally is the way to go, therefore make a deal finally Cuban and Co. Our perimeter defense needs help. Iggy will bring that to the table.

Unfortunately no longer updated, but I wouldn't take this turd for the league minimum. He doesn't play any defense (don't let his last contract year fool you) has an awful shot selection, and zero range. So basically he fills zero of our needs and wastes a roster spot. No thanks.
