Default Nuggets

Anybody interested in anyone from the Nuggets?

Sounds like there could be a potential fire sale in the somewhat near future.

Nuggets...they pretty much overpaid everyone

All 2nd and 3rd bananas but no franchiseplayer

I would like to take Lawson and thats pretty much it. Dont know if i would trade Wright + x for Faried...

Honestly, just about the only guy on that roster who fits a need on this team would be Mozgov. Unfortunately, short of them taking back Felton (LOL) that is a tough trade to negotiate.

Mozgov and/or Afflalo could help this team, depending on the cost. Assuming Mozgov requires a 1st. He has a team option for 5m next season.

Afflalo has a player option at 6.7. Afflalo has lost some of his luster. Wonder how much he would benefit from playing on a contending team? Would defensive effort increase and shot hunting decrease?

I think the play for the Mavs is to see how this thing gels, wait, and read the market. Unexpected players come available every season. People were mentioning Okafor and O'Neal in another thread. Maybe they give 80% of what Mozgov does for free? Maybe a difference maker(Rondo) comes available? A useful player gets waived...

I don't think this team will toss 1st rd. picks away for mediocre players(in a trade that is. drafting mediocre players is in play). Shumpert and Mozgov would seem to fit, but does either put this team over the top? Both allow for financial flexibility after this season. Both would likely require surrendering a 1st rd. pick. My money is on waiting. Although Shumpert looks like he's playing great ball right now...

I don't think it would take much to put this team over the top. The way I see it we are a Stevenson type and a Haywood type from being a very solid PO team.
Still think Crowder could take the Stevenson role but we still need a Haywood and either a healthy Okafor or JO would fill that void.

Considering the situation this team is in I'd seriously consider giving up Felton and a #1 for Afflalo.

I don't really have much interest in Afflalo... he showed pretty miserable effort at times the last couple of years with Orlando. I'd take him for something like Felton and Ledo or Felton and Crowder, but I wouldn't really trade anything of value for him. And I seriously doubt the Nuggets have much interest in taking Felton back.

I see Afflalo filling a need though. Playing for Orlando last season would kill motivation for a lot of players so I wouldn't give that much weight.

I'd give Felton and a number one because Afflalo at 29, along with dumping Felton, has more value for this team than a draft pick most likely in the 20s next season.
A rebuttal that makes sense is holding on to the draft pick for a bigger fish (Rondo, etc...) at TDL or on draft day.
Considering we'd have to include another player (Smith, Crowder, Ledo) or two we'd clear up some roster spots for a legit veteran backup like Okafor or JO.

I have Denver as one of my sleeper teams in the west conference, it is going to be hard for them to make the playoffs, but if I had to choose between Denver, Phoenix, and New Orleans to make the playoffs, I will pick Denver, they are probably the most athletic team in the league with Wilson Chandler, Dano Gallinari, J.J Hickson, Nate Robinson, Ty Lawson, Kenneth Faried, Javale McGee, and they got good defenders with Wilson, Arron, Kenneth. I believe they got back Arron Afflalo in a steal, just giving up Eric Fournier and draft rights to Roy Marble. There team is young and explosive, they have something to work with, even tho the Kenneth Faried trade rumors are starting up again.

I'd be willing to wager a LOT of money that the Nuggets miss the playoffs and by at least 5 games.

This post probably looks a LOT smarter about six weeks ago.
