What is the benefit of getting IP's and Names of USERS?
Either something is Copyrighted and has been violated by those who post illegally or it hasn't. If it's on the net, most of us assume that it's legal and thus for most thier is no intential violation of the law. I don't pay for any material that I view on the net, short of my internet connection... If I am warned that material is copyrighted and illegal to view...I would, believe it or not, choose to NOT view that page. But as far as YouTube, I believe it is all legal and thus I check out videos from time to time. Giving out IP's and Names is a serious privacy violation!!! If something is transmitted out...as in I am sending information over the net, even such things as this message...then yes, it becomes public. But what I choose to "View" and ONLY view, is up to me. I believe this judge is crossing a line that could become a very slippery sloap. |

Cubes was right, youtube is a doomed endeavor, it won't make a penny for google.
