In several posts and articles I read about the "problem" of finding a nickname for Dirk.
How about "X-Man"?
First, Dirk is from Wuerzburg, like W.C. Roentgen the man who discovered the X-Ray!
And he`s got "superpowers" like the X-Men. Although he`s no mutant, he`s a kind of "freak" (in a positive way).
So, what do you think about that?

Wow, thats kind of a stretch Dalli. W.C. Roentgen? I don't know. I'm partial to some of Matt Pinto's nicknames "Bavarian Blitzkrieg", "The Autobahn", "Heir Air".

@ madape:
The nick shouldn`t be "W.C. Roentgen" but -----> X-MAN.

ok...please don't ANYONE TAKE OFFENSE TO THIS...I believe hitler is scum of the earth, but the funniest nickname I've ever heard anyone call dirk was:
The Hoop Nazi!
I doubt dirk would want to be called this, but you have to admit it is pretty funny.

Bavarian Blitzkrieg isn't close to beeing funny. I thought since you guys have got our best german ambassador over there you could come up with something different than beer, autobahn and hitler when you think of germany. oh yeah what about lederhosen?

my comment really has nothing to do with hitler...it is a play on words from the seinfeld episode "soup nazi"

NO SOUP FOR YOU!!
I'm not much into nicknames (who here honestly likes Fin's Flying Tiger moniker??), but I think the Diggler has a certain ring to it

Don't like the "Flying Tiger" nickname either. I think Finley hates it too because Finley asked him not to use it. Pinto calls him the "Flying Fin" now.
Can someone refresh my memory on what movie Dirk Diggler was in .

I think having never seen it had something to do with it .

I think "Dirk" works just fine.
If you will remember not so long ago, some guy named Micheal was in the league, and all you had to say was "Micheal" or "Mike" and everyone knew who you were referring to. Sure he had "His Airness" and "Air", but his name said enough.
"Dirk" says enough.

I agree with Rod... I will call Dirk "Dirk", as I have done in the past, and as commentators will continue to do in the future... Unfortunately, I think the name "Dirk Diggler" is going to hang around for a long time...
