So long as he's more Austin Croshere than Keith Van Horn, in terms of his role, I'll live with it. Begrudgingly.

That's why I said "in terms of his role"

KVH was awesome.

I know. But he is a benchguy in a small role, so we wont see him so much and we can live with that.

Im wondering what i would do when we can grab Wade or Paul with Dust+Josh....these guys i cant stand at all. I allready declined to see 1-2 mavs games when we played them. I would throw up seeing them on my team and it would ruin even the fun of a ring.

In terms of his role, as you say, all KVB did was rain down three-pointers on fools' heads.

Thomas can do that and then some. We need to come up with a nickname for him!

Its always nice to have an overabundance of "x-factor" guys that can come in and dominate. We know Dirk is a superstar and Terry can lock in on the basket like it was 5' instead of 30'. We know what we have in them, but its guys like Howard, Gooden and Thomas that can give you 20 efficient points on any given night that can really mean victory in any given game, especially with Kidd and Marion out there punishing defenses that cheat. Thomas is still a darn nice ball player and what Ive seen from him so far is an extra-versatile 6'10" big man who has WAY more in his tank than Walt "Wizard" Williams had when he was with the team.

I favorably compared him to the Wiz, but we've already seen that he is capable of way more than knocking down a coldblooded three and making a wily no-look pass in a playoff game. The guy can be an impact player on any given night and the fact that we dont depend on him but have him on the bench in case other guys are cold means that we can really throw 5-6 guys out there that can absolutely go off on another team. If Thomas is healthy he can easily win us 4-5 games that we would have otherwise lost due to poor shooting from our regulars.

Did I mention that Thomas really knows how to foul? The guy knows how to take a player down without getting the flagrant. Some of it is his strength but he just puts people on their butts like we've been hoping our defense would do on occasion

I love how he's just another example of those "tough" "attitude" guys. That jam with authority in the paint, that "flagrant" foul. Gotta love that kinda stuff. Dude's got spunk.

lol, people either love or hate players around here.

Come on, Tim Thomas made some really stupid ass decisions against Houston...like that foul on Battier at the three point line. It was made worse by Houston getting the rebound off of his missed free throw and then two more points for them. A five point play that was triggered by an awful foul.

With that said, I don't think most envisioned him as a guy who could still put up a 24 point game. Pretty efficiently too. His "f u" attitude is nice when you bury the opponent.

The good news is that he won't be a main guy once the team is healthy. So I'm fine with him helping contribute wins with all of the team's injuries.

Ah the Wiz!! I will always have a soft spot for his work when the dirkster went down....Battled his ass off. Hat's off for the memory.

Your thoughts about having guys that can go for 20 is spot on also. If he's hot, get him the ball, no one will care who gets shots on the this team. The fans will go ape-**** but the players won't.

It was pretty stupid of him to argue with a ref on a no-call while Scola was wiggling around him to the basket. But it was funny when Thomas grabbed Scola's arm as an afterthought to stop the play.
