Default The Open Championship

Probably the greatest championship in all of sports. Such a cool deal that it starts at 3am on Wednesday in the states.

HUGE opening round by Adam Scott. Hopefully it is time for the Aussie to break through. Also a nice showing by Rory and Stricker. And how the hell does Zach Johnson keep hanging around? Pretty impressive.

He went in four strokes ahead. And dropped four strokes on the last four holes. Unbelievable.

Hm, i think this is the worst finish ( for the runner-up ) since that Masters Tournament where a guy from Canada, Weir ? , won against an unknown Player in the playoffs.

And the Trophy is so precious

I don't know the records...but four bogies in a row to close a major and lose by a stroke may be close to unprecedented.

At least when Vandevelde blew up at Carnoustie he did it all on one hole.

I really wish journalists would edit their stuff, or have someone else do it.

Quote:
Tiger Woods started five behind Scott. At last, especially after his weekend failure at the recent U.S. Open, Woods was going to make his once traditional Sunday majors move.

Or not. He shot 73, including a grotesque triple-bogey 6 on the par-4 sixth hole.
And that's from a *good* journalist.

I personally remember the Shark's collapse against the charging Faldo at the Masters. There was something like a 5 or 6 stroke swap over 4 holes, but I don't think they were the last 4. I was always a big Norman fan and that was tough to watch.

Either way, that collapse by Adam was very, very gut wrenching and, considering he has already blew a couple of past tournaments on the final day, man... You have to be mentally tough to win and this kid just seems to lose it when it counts. Hope he gets it together.
