Spurs= top-tier team
Mavs= .500 or just above .500
No shame in losing this one.

Well at least they took the night off. They ought to be fresh tomorrow.

Wow. At home, the Spurs have trailed 2:01 in the last 276+ minutes.

Have to be worried about the inept offense. No one can consistently score for this team.

Just hate how the team is basically using January as an excuse for poor play.

Glad I went to bed at half time.
Was hoping for a pleasant surprise when I woke up but pretty much what I expected.

Yes but the shame is that we're barely a .500 team
I feel like we should be much much better considering we started 20-8 last year

Really? Compare the talent we have against any other team with a similar record. Like us, Chicago also has a former top PG slowed by injury. But they have Butler, a certain all-star, where we have Matthews, a former top tier wing slowed by injury, and Parsons, another of the same. We have Dirk, who used to be much better than Gasol, but is no longer. After that, we have no one else who would start in the NBA, and depend on significant minutes from guys who'd be at the end of the bench elsewhere, like Mcgee and CV.
Mostly our Mavs are a bunch of guys no one else wanted, like Felton and JJB.
I'm amazed we are even in the playoff hunt. Its a testament to Carlisle that we are even competitive.
Of course we won a championship with a bunch of misfits, but Dirk was a dominant beast then, and Jet was a consistent 4th quarter scorer...we have neither of those things now.
And that 20-8 start? It had one quality win. The rest were patsies.

I still think the offense should be much better than it has been. The talent offensively is there. I just think the whole scheme isn't working. Players don't look comfortable, and the plays being run look either awkward or mediocre in execution. It's astonishing that the team is actually carried by the defense on many nights.
I think if the Mavs do poorly and have another first round exit, then the offense needs a big overhaul or an offneisve assistant coach who can inject some life into it.
