Bleh. Just don't let the Warriors win. Hate everyone on the Cavs not named James, but the Warriors are just the worst.

Looking like an All-Star game so far -- the only "defense" is guys hitting the rim a little too hard, otherwise there isn't anything stopping these guys from scoring at will.

Good lord, the Cavs not even trying on defense. Warriors don't need threes with how lethargic the defense is. No one even sliding over. Lanes wide open.

I know Cleveland came back from down 3-1 last year and last year had blowouts... but damn this seriously might be a sweep.

lol at the tv ratings in the next two-three seasons...Warriors and Cavs going to have their core locked. Without injuries or Boston waking up, this will be probably the finals until 2020...

A lot of teams are going to extend their tanking. No reason trying to get a expensive fake contender team together.

I was soooo about to correct your mistake by pointing out that Deron had 5 points in 4 minutes tonight, but then I remembered that Derrick Williams exists.

On that note, the Cavs have been pretty lousy beyond LeBron/Kyrie/Love... Like, what the hell happened to Tristan "max contract" Thompson?? Dude is a non-factor, can't even pull down boards against a smaller team -- probably why he hasn't cracked 23 minutes in a Finals game so far... And their bench is just straight-garbage.

Is hockey still a thing? Imma be a hockey fan now.

Yeah I made a similar mistake a while back in the regular season when all I saw was "made shot D. Williams" or something in a play by play.

Cavs need a lot more from their role players but my biggest problem with Lebron has always been he just doesn't wow me closing games. It's not his game really, I know, but the best player on the planet had a shot attempt with 10.5 mins left in the 4th down 12 points... and proceeded to not shoot another shot until he subbed out with over 3mins left. I just don't like that from the best player in the world. Especially since he also isn't really even slowing KD down remotely. Again, I'm not blaming him for the loss but it's why I personally feel, in some respect he's overrated. He's 6'8 and nobody on the Warriors can stop him from bully balling his way to at least get ft's and slow the game down and limit the transition game. KD and Draymond were in foul trouble, post them up and get them off the floor?

Watching Durant celebrate is kind of humorous to watch. It's like dude, you totally stacked the deck! I mean I'm sure he's having fun but it's like paying for sex. Don't pretend that it was some "conquest". You payed for it. It's not like you went to the Wizards and led them to a championship. How big an asterisk goes next to this?

I'm a big fan of Durant's game. I have zero respect for this championship. I don't hate him or even dislike him for making the decision he did, but I don't consider this a legit title. It's twice as bad as Lebron and Bosh going to Miami imo. They still had to create a team from scratch and mold their games.

This is bad for the NBA and bad for KD's legacy.

Yes, last year they choked it away and Barnes had a terrible series because he played with zero confidence.

But damn, there are at least 20 players in this league you could switch with Durant and the Warriors still win. Hell, even with this years confident version of Barnes.

What if a Durant goes on to win 4-5 rings in GS? Will people still question his decision to join GS?

No, just his mental fortitude in joining the winningest team of all time after playing poorly against them to blow a 3-1 lead in the playoffs... therefore upsetting the delicate balance of the time/space continuum resulting in Donald Trump's election.

Uh yeah. This is about as easy a path to a championship anyone has ever seen. This would be like Hakeem joining the Bulls in the 90s in his prime.

I dont question his decision. He got tired of waiting and trying hard with his team and took the easiest way possible. His decision.

What he wont get is my respect. Even after 4-5 rings. Because you can switch him with a lot of players and the Warriors would still win.

At least he dont have to be this fake ass humble anymore. Crying via media that he isnt in the MVP race etc...

I go back and forth on Durant. I don't like that he joined the Warriors because of how good they were. But it's not like anything changed in the East. Lebron and the Cavs have a straight path to the finals for the next 2-3 years. All this did was make it the exact same in the West. As for KD, when you spend 7 or 8 years with RWB and you see how fun it looks to play with GSW's, I can't exactly blame him for wanting to go there. But I think if Lebron never left for Miami, then Durant never leaves for GSW's. Even if it's not the same because the Heat were not a finals team the year before. It was done for the same reason. Lebron went to Miami to make it easier on himself and have fun playing with friends. KD went to the Warriors because it made it easier and probably looked fun compared to a bunch of "your turn, my turn" hero ball. If KD chose to join the Spurs/Rockets/Clippers the result would be nearly the same. The Cavs would be there in the end and the GSW's or the team KD joined would be there. And none of those teams are close to the fit or look nearly as fun to play with as GSW's. This all started in 2010 as far as I'm concerned and it could get worse.

The NBA could stop this by simply removing player max's. If Lebron or Steph or KD want to make 40m a year or 50m a year let them. Keep the salary cap there but allow players to make whatever they can get on the market. But why would they want to create some parity when their ratings are not suffering.

Durant's legacy will be defined by the direction the NBA is going to take in the next few years. He might be the worst, but not the first. LeBron didn't join the team he lost against the previous year, but Miami instantly became the best team on the planet, by far in the East. And he probably wouldn't have gone back to Cleveland if they didn't offer him a good package there either.

Ultimately the league has to decide whether they want this trend of super teams to continue or not. If not, the rule that prevents this may very well go down as "Durant rule", and he's going to become the laughing stock. The one player that won championships the easy way as long as it was possible.

On the other hand, in case the current system prevails and generates revenue / ratings, he could become the leader of a new era.

Honestly, it's pretty amazing to watch GS play. They really are an all-star team with their passing, game play, and even their defense. It's hard not to be mesmerized by them. I could be happy with either team losing or either team winning as I really don't care about either one of them.

But given that, I do like the fact that Lebron is getting beat at his own game of "let's build a super team" so I guess I'm rooting for GS in the end even if by a slim margin.

Sure, people are amazed by the talent level and how they spank lebrons ass. Thats why the ratings so far are on the same level.

Next season and beyond it will be boring allready.

And thats the thing. The ratings are up. So until we see a considerable dip, super teams technically arent bad for the NBA. I think we see a drop in regular season ratings next season however. NBA has saturated tv with too many primetime games/ and regular season doesnt mean much when we know what were getting in the finals.

Yeah that's why I think time will tell. I would think that a predefined outcome isn't what drives ratings long-term. Warriors going 16-0 is a story this year, but would already be boring the next one. The only data I have here is soccer, where the richest league (EPL - England) definitely is not the best in Europa but by far features the most competition.

Germany, Spain and even Italy feature better teams, but revenue-wise can't touch the Premier League.

I wouldn't like a "super-team" league, but I would probably still watch if that's what millennials want. I think though that the NBA will eventually introduce rules to prevent this.

I still don't get the KD hate. He made the right choice leaving uncontrolled Westbrook and the not very good without him Thunder. And for people to say "oh, he wouldn't get grief if he went to any other team" is ridiculous. Why would you go to a worse team?

If he gets at least three rings, then all of the noise means nothing.
