this was a hell of a game

and magic picked the nuggets to upset the spurs...he usually doesn't do drugs, but he's definitely high.

i still think SA will put out the series, but I'm glad they're having to work for it.

If the series goes to seven, forget it.

SA will be way too tired to beat the Suns...

The same way Spurs fans feel about the Mavs and their loss last night. Evidently both teams needed a slap in the face that the playoffs had started.

San Antonio has had their back against the wall before. They will bounce back, but this is a tougher Denver team than the one they faced previously.

as an nba prophet/oracle. melo will win a championship before lebron. remember he was leading the league in scoring before he decided to throw some punches. nuggs have a solid chance, and i would much rather see them battling GSW for the western conference finals.

Oh great prophet--

I think you may be right.

JUst not this year.

Some other year--years and years from now, when Dirk and Tim Duncan are retired and doing color commentary for TNT (man--can you picture that?!).

I respect Mello on the court--just want him to drop his gansta BS off the court because off the court, the boy is a thug...

Looks like the Spurs wake up call from Game 1 is working. They are up 14 midway through the 3rd in game 2. Of course, if the Nuggets could make layups, the lead would be 6 points or so.

If AI would have been balling the entire game, the Nuggets would have won this game. He shot a terrible percentage this game, and missed any number of layups that he normally would make.

Didn't help that Camby missed an uncontested dunk down the stretch, either. Spurs get their split.

Nuggets are going to have to toughen up with their short shots in the next game if they want to hold home court advantage for another game.

It's going to be like this all series. Denver's a good team.

Good game by Finley, in case anyone around here cares anymore. Wouldn't blame you if you didn't.

Thank God for Finley.

(I mean God--not Cuban--oh well--what the hell--

Thank you too, Mark).

Fin is finding his confidence once again--he has become a team leader on the Spurs squad.

If he keeps this up, they may retire his jersey next to Tim Duncan's...

Fin's been nails since about the all-star break. Evidently all that hanging around Robert Horry has rubbed off on him as he's now saving his best work for the end of the season. I think he's going to come up a bit short in the jersey retirement department, but perhaps we can get him a ring instead?

Mike Fin's been balllinnnnnnnnnn'. Good for him. And I can't speak for Spurs fans but its gotta be great to have a 91% free throw shooter on your team because if my memory serves me right you guys have problems at the free throw line most notable the clutch. That's how it was last year anyway.

Fin's jersey will be retired by the Mavs, not the Spurs, but he did play well.

The Spurs as a team stepped up from the line. Finley, Barry, Manu & Parker all had career highs for FT% and Tim was.........he was.........uhh.....he was better than last year.

Yeah Fin's jersey better be retired by the Mavs.

I don't see Nash's jersey being retired by anyone other than the Suns though.. thats where he got his MVP identity.

Damn I never thought about Nash's retirement. He had a great career as a Mav as well but while his stint with the Suns hasn't been very long he does have the two MVP's and impact on that Suns team is major. He deserves to have his jersey hung up in both arenas.

Isn't it weird to think that some day Dirks number will be up in the rafters at the AAC?

I think next season Nash will have played as many years for the Suns as he did for the Mavs.

It would be cool for a player to have his jersey retired by two teams.
This probably won't happen to Finley--but what a way to go out if it were to occur. When he left Dallas, he sought to be re-born as a basketball player. In San Antonio, he has been such a classy player. Its funny to see how Bowen and Fin have put their differences behind them and have become close friends now that they are teammates.

(isn't anyone watching this?)

This is a pretty good game, but something comes to mind.

I have extremely extremely incorrectly lumped the Nuggets with certain other gimmick teams that shall remain nameless. I was wrong.

The thing that seperates the Nuggets from those 2 other gimmick tricked up circus teams that have nothing to do with real basketball, is that they are a god awful 3 point shooting team. They have good ball movement, but they can't finish it when someone's left open.

Spurs are in the lead now.... I guess it's a good thing. I need for them to beat the Suns in the long run

lol this is terrible

This is bad coaching, and un-disciplined play

Denver is jacking up every manner of crap after crap after crap. They have no patience, and their coach apparently doesnt care.

it appears that Denver hasn't really learned from their first round exits of the past two years...the Spurs are, of course, difficult teachers, but this 4th game was there for Denver to take to even this series back up, and they just didn't know how to execute down the stretch.

Edit: of course, they could hit a couple miracle threes in this last minute and somehow salvage this game, but against the Spurs' D in the 4th quarter I have a hard time believing that will happen.
