Spurs Mavs Gameday, bitches
Time was, this would have been a sacred occasion, a seldom-per-season clash of nasty division rivals who don't like each other none too much. These days, evidently, it's occasion for some jackwagon to post up an incoherent thread.
Well, screw that. This shall be a gameday thread like they are supposed to be. Filled with vim and vinegar at the outset, and getting harsher as the game wears on.
The dirty and guilty Spurs of San Antonio might attempt to infiltrate the heavily guarded borders of our AAC, but they will be turned away--man after man, drove after drove--by our upright and mighty warriors. The streets outside will run red with the blood of the infidels, our righteous and true warriors hoisting on their spears the hearts of the would-be enemy. Our own team is a wounded tiger, backed into a corner. It knows, at this time, one attack and one attack only. It will spend every ounce of the blood that courses its veins, if it comes to it, to defeat the vile enemy and live on to see one day more.
I would pity the San Antonio Spurs, if they weren't so filthy and despicable and didn't deserve it.

Both games vs the Spurs the Mavs got blown out, the 2nd game was Dirk's first game back.
This team has shown the ability to play with anybody but ive got a bad feeling about the game tomorrow.
Hopefully the Mavs can pull an upset, we sure are over due for an upset over one of the NBA's best.

Spurs will be without Duncan. Mavs need to stay home on the 3 point shooters and press Parker.

Spurs will also be without Coach Popovich
http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/88...s-another-game
SAN ANTONIO -- Spurs coach Gregg Popovich and forward Tim Duncan will miss a second straight game after the ailing duo didn't make the trip for Friday night's game at Dallas.
Popovich stayed home sick and Duncan sat on the bench with a sore left knee Wednesday night during San Antonio's 106-102 victory against New Orleans. Longtime assistant coach Mike Budenholzer will again take the helm against the Mavericks.

This is ancient Earth's most foolish program. Why does Dirk, the largest friend, not simply eat the other five?

No Timmy and no Popy.
Two simple things: guard the three and rebound. No second chance points from poor rebounding. This Spurs team will thrive from offensive rebounds if the Mavs let them.
Mavs win 96-88

Blow out number 3. Mavs just aren't a good team. I'll watch as long as it's competitive. Don't expect to watch past the 3 quarters.

Now that's a GDT.
Break 'em. You-know-what the Spurs.

Inside the numbers: San Antonio Spurs at Mavs
from Marc Stein at ESPN
http://espn.go.com/blog/dallas/maver...-spurs-at-mavs
Five dribbles of info to get you ready for tonight's game between the San Antonio Spurs and the Dallas Mavericks in the first half of ESPN's Friday night doubleheader:
* The Mavs have won five of their last six games while scoring an average of 110.7 points per game over that span. Dallas had only one six-game span last season in which it scored that freely, averaging 110.8 points in six games from April 10-18, 2012.
* O.J. Mayo's field-goal percentage (.408 last season to .459 in 2012-13), free-throw percentage (.773 to .861), and three-point percentage (.364 to 426) have all increased by at least 50 percentage points. No other player who appeared in at least 50 games last season has improved in each of those categories by such a significant amount from last season to this one (minimum: 50 games played in 2011-12).
*According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Mavs forward Elton Brand has made 67.9 percent of his shots from the floor (36-for-53) in the fourth quarter this season. That’s the second-highest field-goal percentage in the fourth quarter for any player with at least 50 attempts behind only the Knicks’ Tyson Chandler (80.8 percent). The Mavericks, as a team, are ninth in the league at 44.2 percent shooting in fourth quarters. San Antonio ranks No. 1 in the league 48.9 percent in the fourth quarter.
* The Spurs have already beaten the Mavs twice this season by at least 25 points each time. The Bulls (over Cleveland) and the Heat (over Washington) are the only other teams with multiple 25-or-more routs against a single opponent. San Antonio has never, in any season, posted three wins of that magnitude over the same opponent.
* San Antonio's Tony Parker has made 52 percent of his field-goal attempts this season, which is the highest percentage for any player who has started at least 30 games as a guard. The only other guard who has started 30 games this season and converted at least half of his shots from the floor, according to the Elias Sports Bureau, is Miami's Dwyane Wade (51 percent).

Crush their spirit with hustle
suffocate their hopes with luck
Pop and TD are out
but us Mavs don't give a phuc
Break their will with physicality
total mascot beastiality
once they fit in to the linings we chalk
send em back south to float the riverwalk
*Then we chant in the arena tonight
Die Spurs Die, Die spurs Die, all of you Die!"*

On another note, we will get to see how well this offense plays against a solid defensive team. They have been hot the past 5-6 games...let's keep it up and the turnovers down.

If the Mavs can defend the 3 they have a great shot at winning this one. If they don't then it will be a long painful night. If Parker goes off on Collison then expect to see a lot of new Mav hero Mike James. James has had a few days of practice with the team over the mini break, so maybe he will have a break out game
Mavs 103 Spurs 99

The Mavs have been looking much better lately, but tonight we will see how far they have really come. Even without Timmah, the Spuds are a formidable opponent because they all play at top NBA level. I agree we cannot win if we don't control the boards. It's OK if they hit some threes, but we can't survive a layup drill. Put them on the line, and foul them hard enough that they miss the field goal.

I hate the Spurs, I hate everything Spurs. What the hell is a Spur, Something that pokes and irritates you, might as well call themselves the San Antonio Prostate Exams. I hate Tim Duncan, He has all the emotional range of a dead cat, He's like a lobotomy patient with good fundamentals. I hate the way he gets more calls than Kim Kardashian's iphone after a new sex tape. I hate Tony Parker, I hate the way he says "Timmy" like it's a pet name. I hate that every time he has a bad night it's because he injured. I hate how no one mentions it's because he forgets to stretch properly before signing Eva's alimony checks. I hate Popavitch, The guy looks like someone put out a fire on his face with an icepick. I hate Ginobli, The only way he could flop more is you chopped off his extremities and replaced them with slinkys, his body has the constancy of a limp wrist, I hate the way Charles Barkley screams his name like he owes him money. I hate Charles Barkley's pumpkin head, damn bitter hydrocyphalic (water head) washup. I hate Bill Walton's worship of the Spurs every time we play them. Why couldn't that guy have taken the bad acid at Woodstock? I hate how he's the only deadhead with soap. I hate San Antonio, the river walk smells worse than a year old jar of mayonnaise and Armageddon. I hate how Nelly could never beat the Spurs, I hate guys who hang onto Chandler and Nash like they were the salad days. I hate this rant. I hate the Spurs fans, never was there a more privileged group of crybaby's. They whine like we killed their lord. I hate how that doesn't even make sense. I hate how we used to have pancakes and the little dogs who have relations with them, and the skull of Ron Tarpley, but now we just get new posters who don't understand when and where to post GDTs. Did I mention I hate the Spurs?... wheeew. I'm winded. I just needed to get that off my chest.
Also, go Mavs!
