Anyone see the Celtics/Heat last night?
Pierce did this:
I thought of this:

I immediately thought of this. Purely because it was the same spot on the on court and in clutch.

Yes! It reminded me of that Jason Terry 3 in Game 5 as well.

One of the best picks in Mavs history, I'd say. And he had set some similarly great ones on the previous possessions.

I think the original comparison is a little more spot-on because it features LeBron coming up short in the clutch once again - he wasn't really in the mix in the pic you posted...
Although that Dirk three was certainly a thing of beauty... Look at everyone's faces in that crowd - they KNOW they're boned!

you can really see how dirk stops looking at the rim and starts looking at the ball after he releases in that pic. I know it comes naturally for some people, but I've tried that 100's of times...i just can't hit anything when i do it.

Why does Lebron always have to be the most important character, even when he's obviously not the most important character?

Because he is the self appointed king.

Exactly what I thought about also. Game 5 and all. Of course, Pierce's shot was much earlier in the shot clock.

Spo getting pwned badly...again:
Quote:
I think BOS literally ran the Rondo and Garnett pick and roll 99% of the time down the stretch, literally they ran it over and over again and got either wide open J's or layups for KG.
It's because of the way MIA traps the pick and roll, they need to adjust because it won't work against BOS - you have Rondo coming off the P&R and he is either going to
a) finish at the rim if you don't trap
b) if you do trap him successfully, he will just lob it over the top to Garnett
c) if you do trap successfully AND manage to recover to Garnett, it means you cheated off Ray/Pierce and you get burned there
It's a great play in that regard. I think if you're MIA you have to just stop trapping and living with Rondo putting up contested buckets. It's better than letting him get the entire team wide open looks.

Exactly, seems every team Lebron's been on, it's been play ground basketball, no sets, no plays, just take it at the top and breakdown your man to get to the paint, knockdown after knockdown, it takes a toll and by the time Game 5-6-7 rolls around, paint attacks drop, attention to detail drop, boom the savvy vets will pick that apart time and time again. He has to get into a system, as much as he will hate it, he needs to get into an offensive system that involves more than a pick and roll. I thought they had a huge advantage given the shortened training camp and impacted schedule, but the playoffs are a different animal, where set systems win out eventually. They need to parcel out playing time with a must on keeping one of Wade or James on the floor at all times, limiting James' PT to no more than 36 in the regular season and 40 in the playoffs. If Spoelstra is lucky enough to be back, he needs to start studying MJ and Pippen's Bulls and install a triangle system, as well as managing a substitution pattern. Systematically they are one of the easiest teams to defend, I mean they are a catch and hold bunch, when you hold, you allow the other team to scramble and match up. KG, catch and pop, Allen, catch and pop, Durant, catch and pop. They're making it so much harder on themselves.......

Is anyone else annoyed by ESPN's coverage of that game? Legler came on Sportscenter this morning and ranked the NBA's top clutch performers and put Wade, Pierce, Durant, and Kobe and no mention of Dirk whatsoever.
How soon they forget. Dirk scored 62 total points in the 4th quarter of the finals – equal to the points scored by both Wade AND James combined.

Because the thread is about LeBron?
We could make it about Dirk, but I have no idea what Dirk was up to last night...

Kinda hard for them to forget when they barely acknowledge Dirk's clutchness in the first place...
EDIT: well, looks like the thread IS about Dirk now - everyone disregard my last post... I really don't care about LeBron's punk-ass anyway. Hope that bitch breaks both knees while he's plowing his power bottom, Dwyane Wade.

Because it is the NBA brought to you by Lebron James and the Miami Heat...... Can't wait until they get knocked out of the Conf Finals and they blow that team up.
Not one, not two, not three..... but ZERO.

Yeah, I remember Reggie and Kerr talking about what they look at when shooting. I can't remember which... one of them always watched the ball when he shot. The other always watched the rim.
I was always a watch the rim guy. I tried watching the ball... it always seemed to effect my shot.

I am also a rim guy. Watching the ball move with such purpose through the air is a great joy of mine, unfortunately it usually bounces off the rim when that happens. I have no issues when focusing on the rim.
Would be cool if all the peeps on DM.com got together for a pick up game

You better win your game because calling next after the list of waiting opponents probably has you waiting for days.

I really wish the Celtics could make a damn basket in this second half. They have squandered so many opportunities.
