Only watched part of the first half. Did Kidd looked sleepy/tired or spaced out? This is a particularly bad shooting game for him. I saw that he had to throw a couple of 3 pointers at the buzzer to avoid a shot-clock violation.

well according to cuban's twitter, the team only got 3 hours of sleep thanks to the schedule, so that probably has something to do with it, lol

The two missed foul shots also indicate he didn't have his legs under him. 3 hours? That's rough.

If the playoffs started tomorrow, we'd be playing the Spurs again. #2 v #7.

So much for John Hollingers conclusion that the trade doesn't make us better...

At least it'd be a fresh take on the series with the new guys on board...but it'd be the same result as it has been lately: Mavs owning the Spurs

We just need to keep winning and beat Denver and Utah in the last head-to-head games to seal the deal,

http://espn.go.com/nba/hollinger/powerrankings
Hollinger's formulas are bullsh.
The Mavs, on an 8-game win-streak, having played the Lakers and the Magic, as well as other playoff teams like the Suns and Hawks, are ranked 13th ....
Some of these teams ahead of us you can make arguments for ... but not the Heat or the Celtics (who lost to New Jersey)...
This reminds me of that one article where Hollinger questioned Dirk as the MVP ...

I've never understood how someone could get fat while playing pro basketball but Boris Diaw is managing to do it. He must sit on his ass all off-season. He had one good year, got paid and said screw it.

I saw the last free throw in the clips/utah game and it was unbelievable how they didn't call a foul on boozer on that ft attempt. He looked like a pulling lineman shoving him under the basket. Ridiculous.

Meh. Hollinger's rankings aren't above criticism by any means, but griping at him because of his fully automated system that's based on season long performance and is unable to account for trades or missed games by key players is a little silly.
On the other hand, his short bus evaluation of the trade as not doing anything for the team? Call him out for that all you want.

In fairness Hollinger admitted that the trade made us marginally better. His criticism was that for all the salary we picked up we were still not as good as the Lakers or the Nuggets. I think he was wrong about that too (at least the Nuggets part), just throwing that out there as a point of clarification.
He has been pretty dismissive of us this year though. It bothered me early in the season then it started to look like he was right. I'm curious to see if he'll take a Mavs question in Thursday's chat session.

I feel like the first time after the trade that Butler made the difference. Imagine Josh playing instead of him. I don't think we would have come back with one of his typical 4 for 15 shooting nights...

We are currently #2 in the West because we've played more games (1) than Denver, right? In the loss column we are tied... and don't they own the tie-breaker meaning they technically control their destiny for the #2 seed for now?

Marion is such a good defender...I just wish it wasn't a choice between him OR Caron in the fourth.
Kidd looks like he needs a couple nights rest.
Bobcats are a terrible decision making team.

Dirks probably 4th or 5th in the MVP race right now. 1 is Lebron and honestly at this point its not close. Durant has to be number 2. Kobe is probably 3 and dirk 4.

Dallas plays them towards the end of March.
Dirk controls their destiny.
