Are you interested in 'Apolcalypto'?
The movie is getting great reviews so far. Will Gibson's recent action hurt your interest in this movie? Personally, I can't wait. And besides, I think Gibson was only pulling a 'Borat' impersonation when he was pulled over. High Five. So, are you interested in this movie?

It looks incredibly boring to me. I don't know if it's all in subtitles? I don't really want to see a movie about a bunch of indians... even though the Mayas were one of the most interesting cultures of its era. I guess its a pretty original plot line but i'll wait until it comes out on DvD.

Only for racist homophobes.. You will fit right in Murphy. I think Kramer will be in the crowd, but with less hair.

I'm very interested. Mel Gibson has made nothing but ground-breaking movies. I could care less about what someone says when they are all liquored up.
It also looks like one of those that will be best served on the big screen...so I think I'll be taking it in.

yep. I've been stoked about it ever since I heard that it was about ancient south american cultures.
Besides the racist rant, Mel Gibson cusses too much in interviews. Way too much. And that beard was stupid. he shouldn't have worn it. Plus, I hear he's rude. And he ate a baby once. But it's not like he's a scientologist or anything. Anyway, a good movie is a good movie. And he's made a couple that are really good.

Actually I've found that conflict with something besides guns is very exciting. It's more primordial I think.

I find the Mayan culture one of the most interesting in our history. I can't wait to see it and I agree with dude about it being a bigscreen show.

In all honestly, not AT ALL. I watched the first preview it seems like a friggin year ago, (kind of like how Pearl Harbor ran previews 12 years before they released the movie), and it was a REALLY poor preview. Others have looked better, but I haven't been able to shake how terrible the original preview looked. I will probably watch it on 250 when it comes to TWC, but definitely not at the theatre!

Can you give me some resources to good historical sites, books, etc on the Mayan culture? I have a little knowledge, and some theories, but have been looking for more. Any ideas?

and I believe her....and I believer her....

This was definitely worth the price of admissions. Subtitles suck a bit, but you get over it quickly..

Nope I have a Klan rally that night.
I'm sure Mel will understand, seeing as he's the keynote speaker.

Hate is underrated.
Five-O, there is talking in the movie just not in English hence the need for subtitles. There's even a white person or two for those of you that like to have a whitey mixed in from time to time to keep you interested.

And Gibson is overrated.
Braveheart = good flick
The Patriot = Braveheart with popguns - the bagpipe and realistic script
The Passion = Gospel according to Braveheart or 2 1/2 hours of "Beat up Jesus"
Apocalypto = Braveheart with them dirty Injuns

Gibson is definitely not overrated as a director. Apocalypto was a very good movie.. Braveheart is one of the best action/war movies of all time. The Passion was a very good movie..maybe slightly overrated by some, but very good nonetheless. I could have done without The Patriot. And let's not forget A Man Without A Face...very solid movie as well.

Are you saying if I hated The Passion, I hate Jesus? Guess what ASS, I'm jewish.
It was brutal, guilt trip and nothing more, You want to fall into that Anti-Semite brainwashing thats your choice, but don't ever insult my religion that way again. Some people need films to tell them what to belive, I guess. But I didn't "Get closer to Jesus"
because of The Passion, and didn't vote for Kerry because of Fahrenheit 9/11. I don't let filmmakers tell me what to think and belive. And yes It was a snuff flick. You could have put Sadam Hussien in Jim Cavizel's role and people would have still been moved by it.
It was nothing more than 2 hors of Graphic Brutality. How about next time Gibson makes a movie about Jesus's life instead. Or better yet he can just spend all his money rounding people like me up and gassing us.

Ahhh. Shit, Now I'm kneejerking. Probably had that coming for the snuff film line. Still don't assume I hate your Lord just because I think Gibson is Hitler with a camera.
Probably went far with that too.

Ummm i dont mean to quivel but its a historical fact that jesus was brutalized in those manners. Is Schindlers list anti German because it shows Germans killing jews? No its a movie about something that actually happened. Did I need the movie to tell me the story? No i didnt but I do think it did a good job of showing people just how violent the things that christ went through were.
