Would have busted a nut if we walked out of the draft with Doncic and JJJ -- would have traded Barnes for Parsons in a heartbeat to make it happen.

Too bad we have a front office that lives their every minute in plan powder. No way they would have taken on Parsons let alone give up Barnes.

I dont see the Grizzlies ever giving up #4 to us for a player/future pick just to dump Parsons...no way we walk out of this draft with Luka and JJJ

Yeah, I know. It was a cruel rumor to get Mavs' fans hopes up.
I'll never have a problem with us trading up to take Doncic. Never. My only fear is that JJJ will become something truly special & Doncic will just be good.
That said, if we had taken JJJ, I'd have the same fear the other way.

Ditto. I'm still a bit shocked we went after and got Doncic, but I think the spectre of passing on Giannis had more than a little to do with making such an aggressive move.
Granted that the Mavs have had high draft choices the past two years, but it is nice to see them place more value on draft picks.

Supremely happy with Doncic, but I would have been happy with JJJ as well... The player who didn't really make sense was Bamba, especially given our FA targets.

Some guys suck in summer league and rockthe NBA and some guys rock the summer league and suck in the NBA. Still, for being a baby, dude sure is tearing it up.

That guard the Griz took before us in the second round is tearing it up.

This is exactly why I didn’t want the Mavs to draft this kid. I don’t care what his camp says, 2 back surgeries within a 1 1/2 years isn’t good. Latest one was the repairs “disks” (plural). Not good at all.

Fish has two types of news in his articles
1) real “leaks” that the Mavs released to him to play the NBA game
2) crap he made up because News is slow and he needs people to continue getting subscribers to pay $2 a month. Terrible what-ifs that the average fan would think of but backed by the illusion that he’s an insider

Looking back at old posts and it looks like the Mavs finally escaped the Satnam/Podkolzin curse by drafting three guys in the second that they want to play.
Kostas is Probably the furthest from producing but seems like they got him to develop him rather than just selling jerseys in Greece

Wasn't that a rumor Fish made up or something? Bet that trade was never actually discussed between the two teams.

That rumor stunk from the very beginning (not a surprise as Fish pulled it out of his ass).

I still don’t think it was ever a legit rumor. I don’t think they even considered giving up Brown. I do think they want a do over with Robert Williams at 27 though. That kid is a top notch dumbass and will likely be out of the league before his rookie contract is up.
