Can't wait for someone's Game 5 GDT speech to cheer me up.

Charles Barkley rips Heat, fans

Charles Barkley lobbed another verbal salvo on Wednesday in his war of words with the Miami Heat and their fans.

Waddle & Silvy

Charles Barkley joined "The Waddle & Silvy Show" on ESPN 1000 to discuss his love/hate relationship with the Heat and their fans.

More Podcasts »
When asked if Miami is the worst professional sports town, Barkley, who reiterated his admiration of LeBron James and Dwyane Wade, said: "Yeah they have the worst fans. No question. It's not even loud in there. You're at the game and you are like, 'Man this place isn't even loud.' At least when you go to Chicago, it's loud in there, it's crazy down in Dallas but it's not even loud in Miami."

When the Heat were playing the Chicago Bulls in the Eastern Conference finals, Barkley said he liked James and Wade personally, but he called the Heat a "whiny bunch." He didn't back off that charge on Wednesday when he was a guest on "The Waddle & Silvy Show" on ESPN 1000.

"Listen, if the Miami Heat were playing the Washington Generals I would pick the Washington Generals," Barkley said with a chuckle. "It's something about that team that annoys me.

"They just a whiny bunch and I can't root for them."

Heat fans let Barkley know they weren't happy with his criticism. In fact, TNT moved its set for pregame shows during coverage of the conference finals from outside American Airlines Arena to inside because of negative interaction between Barkley and fans.

The NBA Finals between the Heat and Dallas Mavericks is being carried on ABC.

Im in "attack mode." No, really this time.

Has anyone considered that Terry and Stevenson's comments are meant to bait LeBron in to going into "Cavs" mode? This keeps the ball out of Bosh and Wade's hands who are obviously more dangerous right now.

A lot of people are saying that Stevenson shouldn't be "poking the sleeping bear." How can LeBron be asleep 4 games into the NBA Finals!? It's the freaking Finals!

I must say the Mavs hustle in the fourth quarter was incredible. Throughout the playoffs we have been able to produce well-timed bursts of defensive energy in the fourth quarter.

It is an amazing achievement to limit Lebron James to 8 points in a finals game. I have to give props to Dwyane Wade, who has been excellent. But Miami simply do not have the offensive depth to win unless Lebron shows up. Bosh is able to rack up some points, but he does not create his own shot.

Most interesting statistic of the Finals series: with Dirk on the floor we are +30, but -35 without. If Dirk can maintain his fantastic level of play, I think the series is ours. Our "A team" is stronger than their "A team", and in game 7 we will be able to play our "A team" for more minutes than normal (no need to rest/preserve). I also think that the Heat, and Lebron in particular, have more pressure to win, and are a bit out of their comfort zone at this point. In my opinion, the Heat are more prone to collapse.

Sidenote, I had a look at the Miami heat final series thread. The Heat "fans" are so introspective and arrogant, much like the whole Heat organisation I guess. I really hope that the Mavs can prevail in this "good vs bad" series.

it's good strategy and hopefully it's enough to throw wade off his rhythm by making lebron chuck more
