I must say the Mavs hustle in the fourth quarter was incredible. Throughout the playoffs we have been able to produce well-timed bursts of defensive energy in the fourth quarter.
It is an amazing achievement to limit Lebron James to 8 points in a finals game. I have to give props to Dwyane Wade, who has been excellent. But Miami simply do not have the offensive depth to win unless Lebron shows up. Bosh is able to rack up some points, but he does not create his own shot.
Most interesting statistic of the Finals series: with Dirk on the floor we are +30, but -35 without. If Dirk can maintain his fantastic level of play, I think the series is ours. Our "A team" is stronger than their "A team", and in game 7 we will be able to play our "A team" for more minutes than normal (no need to rest/preserve). I also think that the Heat, and Lebron in particular, have more pressure to win, and are a bit out of their comfort zone at this point. In my opinion, the Heat are more prone to collapse.
Sidenote, I had a look at the
Miami heat final series thread. The Heat "fans" are so introspective and arrogant, much like the whole Heat organisation I guess. I really hope that the Mavs can prevail in this "good vs bad" series.
