Wes Anderson is quite good.

Clint is the best thing going among major studio guys...

i don't know if i have a favorite director, but there are directors that have directed my favorite films...

Gondry, Nolan, Jackson, Anderson, Braff (really only one film, and it's not AMAZING, but he shows promise), and now i am drawing a complete blank.

Braff as in Zach Braff? Yeah I'll agree with that one. Garden State was really quite good. Not sure if he has any plans to direct again but if he does I'll definitely check it out.

Wes Anderson and Peter Jackson are the only 2 directors that I see any movie they produce. I'm not always pleased (King Kong, Aquatic Life) but more times than not I am entranced.

I still think that Tennenbaums is one of the greatest, if not the greatest comedy of all time.

As a former die-hard Tarantino fan, I have to say he has become terribly overrated.

1. Oliver Stone
2. Christopher Nolan
3. Tim Burton

then there's everyone else.

I assume you mean Oliver Stone?

I don't care what anyone says. He's by a pretty fair margin my favorite filmmaker. Platoon, NIXON, JFK, and Natural Born Killers are all masterpieces.

And, while very flawed, I still enjoyed Alexander quite a bit, as well as Any Given Sunday.

Platoon is fine...the others I can do without ever seeing again...and I can't usually say that about masterpieces...

but we can disagree that you are wrong and just move on

I'd give a little nod to Josh Whedon for the Firefly series (which was greatness) and Serenity....though I'm not sure what else he's done

Natural Born Killers certainly isn't for everyone. But I still think it was one of the best films of the 90's. A piece of art like that doesn't come around very often. Much less in the form of a major motion picture.

This coming from a guy who thinks Peter f*cking Jackson is the best director out there. Please. I'm sorry, but if Return of the King had just ONE ending, I might've enjoyed at least one of the LOTR films, but no, he had to give us 15 endings, so they all sucked. You see, I like movies where things actually like... happen. Frodo trying to get to the mountain is good for an hour... maybe two. But instead we have an "epic" trilogy adding up to more than nine hours total of.... Frodo tying to get to the mountain. The guy has legitimate skills. All his movies are visually stunning, but that only does so much. King Kong had potential, but Jack Black ruined it for me.
