As bad as Hedo's failed dunk was, Richardson's flop from Caron's "elbow" foul was far worse. Richardson tried to sell that crap like he was knocked unconscious.

I don't know what Magic fans are thinking, because there's NO way Hedo got fouled on the dunk attempt. Both J-Kidd and Dirk lightly touched his back, but not nearly enough to alter his shot and make him miss a dunk that badly. That miss was hilarious.

Im a mavs fan but he clearly got 2 hands to his back and a slight push that was a foul, but Hedo should have still dunked it with ease

touching someone and pushing them are two entirely different things. He simply missed the dunk

They're really not that different when a guy is in the air and moving at that speed. it doesn't take much to alter his direction or to push him forward a little faster. That's why when you touch a player from behind when he's in the air it's almost always a foul. My guess is the refs had a bad angle on this one. Not our problem though.

Based on the way that game was called it would have been a mistake to call that a foul. It would have been an understandable mistake because as I mentioned before, I thought it was a foul before I viewed the replay.

How about that no-call when Dwight Howard punched Chandler in the head?
If Hedo was fouled, I'd say we''re even...

Lol, no way. Howard was going for the block and happened to get Chandler instead of the ball. An obvious foul, but nothing "unnecessary" or "intentional" about it, as flagrant fouls need.

Wade's injury dates to Monday's loss to the Dallas Mavericks in Miami, when he banged knees with Jason Kidd during the fourth quarter. He went through a full practice Wednesday, but during the team's five-hour flight to Phoenix, the knee swelled and started to cause some discomfort.
"J. Kidd's got them old steel knees," Wade said.

In the early third of the season, Dallas Mavericks Coach Rick Carlisle has preached sustainably and improvement. How does that work when you have five days off in-between games and the holiday season wraps up? If you're the Mavericks, who have won 16 out of their last 17 games, you take a few days off and then you have a competitive and lively practiced with scrimmages sprinkled inside of it. "This is an unusual break for this time of the year," said Rick Carlisle. "We're trying to get the most out of it in terms of an opportunity to rest and spend time with family in the one hand and the other hand, have a hard practice day and try to keep the edge...It's a bit like an All-Star break really."
"This is an unusual situation," Carlisle said. "This is uncharted territory for me, I've never had a five-day break at Christmas time. It's great that we could go in to it on a bit of a roll, but we don't take anything for granted and we know the challenges ahead. We know it's going to get very busy coming out of this so we've got to make sure that our preparation is appropriate, aggressive and we've got to continue along the same tact."

I don't think you really need to "keep the edge" at this time of year. Plenty of time to sharpen it if it gets dull.

I would imagine they have all been aching to get back at it. This is different imo than the previous years where the littlest napoleon was screaming all of the time, this is internally driven...which has me very excited..

Recapping the Mavs domination of the state of Florida:
Quote:
Mavericks Hot and Cold: Week of December 20, 2010
We’re at the end of 2010 and the Mavericks have the second-best record in the NBA (tied with Boston) and a three-game lead over the Lakers in the West. Anybody have that coming into the season? If so, you’re coming with me to Vegas.
That said, it’s time for this week’s installment of Mavericks Hot and Cold, covering the Mavs’ two-game trouncing of the Sunshine State.
Hot
1) Jason Terry in the clutch
Last week was vintage Jason Terry, fourth-quarter aficionado. Against the Miami Heat on Monday night, JET entered the final frame with zero points on 0-of-5 shooting and a turnover. JET was such a nonfactor in the first half, Coach Rick Carlisle jokingly proclaimed he was "still at the hotel." Needless to say, JET found his way to the American Airlines Arena for the fourth quarter. He scored all 19 of his points in the fourth, including two ice-cold three-pointers in the final minutes to put the Mavs up 86-81 and 89-85. While his numbers weren’t nearly as impressive, JET also came through in crunch-time the following night in Orlando, tallying 6 points and 3 assists during the fourth. Most importantly, JET drained a long jumper with :39 seconds left to push the Mavs’ lead to 99-94 after a late barrage of Magic three-balls had cut a double-digit Mavs lead to just 3.

This. Rest > Momentum.. at least this early when looking at the grand scheme of things. Kidd and Dirk needed it.
