It was amazing. I've never seen anything like that in my life. Just let him do the same move all game.

You win with talent. You take the talent away, then don't complain when you get swept. If we don't get at least one of the big free agents, and hopefully 2 of them, Dirk may as well retire because trying to mortgage the future is stupid when you don't know the future. Win now.

No way this team stays as is. Whether or not Deron comes, this team is exploding. Going to look a lot different next season. Can't wait cause this season was by far the most excruciating season of mav ball I've ever seen.

Letting Chandler go was a mistake. It sounded good on paper, but he was more than just his stats.

Roger that. My wife and I both just cringe when Haywood ends up with the ball. He may well be the slowest and most butterfingered center in the league.

Look, Haywood didn´t play well, but he didn´t lose this game. Not coming up with an answer to Harden lost this game. I hate to say it, but Carlisle didn´t exactly do much to stop Harden.

I've never coached in the NBA, but trapping him and making him go to his right might have been something to consider.

Knowing we won last year, it doesn't hurt as much as it used to.

Agreed. Plus it's an asterisk season. I just wish the off season nitty gritty can begin already so that we know what the team will look like next year.

This season sucks but as stated before we won the championship last year so its hard to be mad this season.

I hope Cuban knows what he is doing and that he makes the moves this off-season.

The last play as I recall was right, right past a jkiddo that looked like he was 100, not 40

We've made the playoffs ever year the last 12 years and sold out ever game since 2002 (I think 02). Cuban knows what he's doing, I have faith in him.

This season was an exception and it was fake.

Right, because every franchise with an elite, franchise player has had this level of success. Oh...they haven't? Oh..only a handful of teams in the history of the NBA have had this level of success? Oh.

I mean, the franchise has just been riding Dirk's coat tails, then where was the success this year? Dirk has been solely responsible for everything, right? Put complete trash around him and he continues to carry this idiotic front office? So why are we even mad at Cubes?

Oh, right, I see. We give Dirk all the credit for the success, and the front office all the blame for the failures. I see.

In the last decade there were ~10 elite franchise players.

-Dirk
-Garnett
-Shaq
-Kobe
-Duncan
-Lebron
-Wade
-Durant
-Dwight
-Paul (add Nash, Iverson, Kidd if you want)

Count their winning % (and titles) in the playoffs once their career is over. And count with how many all star teammates they went to war.

If you really think Dirk should be grateful for playing with Avery, Jamison, Josh, Jet, Devin, Toine, old Kidd, Damp, Diop and dozens of scrubs, then fine. But in my opinion Dirk was nothing else than KG in Minessota. And yes, he made the playoffs every year, unlike KG,..... because Dirk is simply the better player.

Thanks for making my point. Look at the franchises that these players started with, and tell me which ones have had the success of the Mavs. You have two teams. Two.

If you want to say Miami, fine, but that helps my point even further, because Miami did EXACTLY what Dallas is doing now. They won a championship with a superstar and old players. Then they tore it all down and made the huge free agent splash. That's the blueprint we're trying to follow.

So Dirk is so much better than KG that he took equivalent rosters and was a perennial contender while Garnett missed the playoffs and contended one season??? THAT'S your stance? Dude, that is absurd.

Garnett is THE example of what can happen to a franchise that doesn't know how to build around a superstar. Yes, the Mavs failed to land the second superstar, but they did a DAMN fine job of building three different rosters that competed for titles (oh, and won one). And Dirk obviously gets a huge share of the credit for that. But he doesn't get all of it. That's absurd.

Watching jthig argue with this guy is like when I went to Friday Night Fights on ESPN in Austin last Friday. Most of the undercard fights lasted 2 rounds or less, and one of them lasted literally 20 seconds. Mismatches abound.

Bit before my time but I've heard about it. Not sure I've ever seen a video, though.

I must have boxing on the brain right now after the fight last night. Was a good one.

Yeah, everyone seems to forget that the last team who won the Finals and got swept in the first round the following year was the Heat . . . and look where they are now.

Nobody is going to remember this sh!tty, lockout-shortened season (the most forgivable kind of season to throw away) when we get this team back on track with a big free agent signing or two over the next couple years. Winning fixes everything.

If it was that easy, he wouldn't be 6th man of the year. Harden, IMO, is probably the Thunder 2nd best player and is there best play maker as well. He is a an upgraded version Manu, flopping included as well.

It's absolutely not easy, but Rick still needed to mix it up more, and the players needed to cheat to his left more.

It's quite possible the Mavs still lose no matter what they do, but they were definitely slow to adjust.

He would have just passed it to Fisher who seems to only want to score against the Mavs. It was just that type of year for the team.

I will say the Mavs getting the OKC frontcourt in foul trouble actually hurt more than it helped. It caused them to go small which in turn put more speed out on the floor.

Again, you absolutely have to take that chance. However high it is, it's still lower than the chance that Harden will again beat his defender off the dribble from the top of the key. That's a virtual certainty after what had happened the first 3.5 games.

So what the hell is CreepingDeath talking about when he said Dirk threw his teammates under the bus?
