Please help me...these things I've got are way too big...
..and by "things", I mean M4V files.
This is probably a stupid question, but here it goes. I've recently discovered that I can waste a good bit of my life away by downloading TV programs from itunes. Obviously, these files are huge and taking up alot of space. I bought an external hard drive to store them, but I know there has to be a way to compress these files so that they don't take up so much room.
Any suggestions? I would prefer to use a solution that is...oh, i don't know...FREE.
Thanks in advance.

This forum discusses the same app.. however it looks like it won't do protected m4v files (DRM). For that, everyone seems to be suggesting Tunebite (converting protected m4v to avi).
You might try the shareware above first and if it doesn't work use this:

Yeah.... I just posted (above) a comment about that. I haven't found a free one yet but will look later on once I'm able to get into a torrential rain storm....

Thanks U2. I will try that link when I get home. I try googling this stuff on my own and it gives me extreme Tired Head.

Well, I could setup a rule to allow me to accomplish that but it just wouldn't be right. Besides I didn't bring my galoshes.

My IT department has made very sure that I'm wearing my rain poncho, and there's no way any torrential rain storms will hit us programmers.

Same here. For some reason most IT department try to keep those torrential rain storms away for most companies.
I can, however, watch the news, to find my free stuff, if I'm brave enough....

Yeah, but news watching isn't as popular yet so just give it time..... they will shut down CNN eventually I would imagine.

I will be most upset if they stop broadcasting the news.
Besides, it's been around forever. Just not real popular with the young crowd. I mean none of these younguns watch the news.
