I think Fisher's story is EXTREMELY important. The one thing that can move the Mavs through the playoffs and to a championship is the motivation to succeed and confidence in Avery's system (and the man himself). Here you have a skeptic walking into a situation with potentially all kinds of preconceived notions and looking for verification of what we all suspect. The skeptic comes away quite shocked that he could find no evidence to support it. I give Fisher a ton of credit here. This could have been a self-fulfilling prophecy assignment. It would have been juicy journalism to report a "hint" of discontent and further evidence that Avery is dead man walking. It takes some strong character and standard of ethics to write this story. Wait, I take that back. It takes character and ethics to be OPEN to objectivity in this situation and then to write the story. Good job Mike Fisher.
