ocelot, do people that go to UALR actually call it the University of Arkansas? I've only known one University of Arkansas, and that's in fayetteville. But i'm familiar with UALR after watching the USL Ragin' Cajuns play them in the Sun Belt.

I think everyone just calls it UALR. I don't think i've ever heard any posers try to convince someone they were REAL UofA students...lol. The thing that pisses me off is that we have to play at least 2 football games in LR every year and some years that number has to be 3. Why? Oh, so the rest of the state can see the Hogs. Yeah, they're called cars, get in one and drive your ass to Fayetteville. Ugh...the only thing I hate about the U of A.

Yup... I remember the "controversy" surrounding the whole football games in Little Rock thing. IMO it's nothing more than a move to make some money off folks in the city, who are too lazy to drive to Fayetteville but still feel like wanting to be a part of the Hogs.

RE: College Students/Alumni ~
ocelot, is the stadium in Little Rock bigger than the one in Fayetteville? I dated this girl who was from Fort Smith, and her sister went to Arkansas, so I went to like 1 or 2 games. that's a damn nice stadium in fayetteville. why you would want to play somewhere else escapes me. largest jumbotron screen in the nation!

RE: College Students/Alumni ~
BBL: our football stadium, after all the renovations, has GOT to be in the top 5 in the nation. It's not the largest, only 72000, but it's got to be one of the nicest. The jumbotron is just rediculous. that alone is worth the price of admission ($1 for students...woo hoo!). The little rock stadium is 55,000 and is the most delapidated (sp?) piece of crap you've ever seen. I'll never get it. The opportunity cost of playing games in LR is $2 million. We could make $2 million dollars extra a game if we just played all the games in Fayetteville. Oh well...the contract runs out in 2015, so by the time I'm 35 I should get to enjoy all of the games from the confines of Razorback Stadium.
You should see the new weight room we just opened up. ALSO the largest in the country. I believe they said it is twice the size of UT's weight facility, which USED to be the biggest. I'm not sure about that though, but I THINK UT used to have the biggest. Anyway, if you want I'll see if i can find some pictures.

RE: College Students/Alumni ~
geez, that really does make no sense... they'd rather play in a 55,000 seat stadium than a 72,000 renovated stadium? maybe they're banking on not as many students at the game, so the average price per ticket increases...

RE: College Students/Alumni ~
The only halfway legit reason that they don't have one of the games in Fayetteville is the one the day after thanksgiving. They think none of the students would show up. It's always vs. LSU and it's always in LR. Of course, LSU is always good. So the students would show up....
