Kenny probably said something to the crew about how he hates the Mavs, because I don't know if you guys noticed but he never says Dallas deserved to win. He refrains from saying it outright. On two occasions this was clear:

-Charles Barkley says, when asked about who'll win the whole thing: "I think Dallas will take the whole thing." Ernie turns to Kenny "the idiot" Smith and goes "What do you think Kenny?" He hesitates while both Charles and Ernie hold their breaths and laughter awaiting his answer. "I............ concur," he says, hesitantly, at which point Chuck and Ernie laugh.

-The same question is asked at the very end of the broadcast of game 6. When it is Kenny's turn to answer, once again Charles having answered "Mavericks" first, and Kenny looks left and right hesitantly and says something like "I agree" very reluctantly whilst elbowing Chuck who looks like he's about to tease him for saying it.

In short, Kenny is an asshole like Charles, but at least Charles is entertaining, non-pretentious and has a personality.

Hey...do you mind?

If you're going to use a slur, at least have the balls to use the right one.

It seemes to me that whoever handed the trophy over to Cuban had an attitude also; the Mavs are getting screwed royally by the media. We just need to keep on winning and winning and winning.

Fixed. I lacked the creativity to find something that sounds kind of like "The Jet"

The Pheonix Suns Post-Game Show brought to you by TNT....

I caught it live and then listened to it again a couple of times on the Sirius Radio replay. Here follows the details as I’ve retained them in my copious notes.

........................

Picking up after presentation of the WC Championship trophy to Mavs….Ernie, Jet, Sir Chas, and Magic on set…..

Inanities and banalities followed by coach Mike-Dan-Tony’s post-game.

Returning…..Ernie asks for Sir Chas take on Mavericks’ victory. Sir Chas launches into praise for Suns, and states he hasn’t enjoyed Suns team this much since they won an NBA championship when he played for them. (Ernie gently reminds Sir Chas that Suns never won it all.)

Jet echos Sir Chas’ statements, comments on how sometimes role players can elevate play of super stars--like he did with Hakeem, and like Diaw and Barbosa are doing for Nash.

Ernie asks Magic for his take on game. Magic enthusiastically states that Mavs’ problem in first half was losing their backcourt to foul trouble, forcing them into a slow tempo, half-court game. But, says Magic, in second half Mavs finally figured out that they needed to slow the tempo and play a half-court game.

Jet and Chas sing praises to Suns’ resiliency, noting remarkable perseverance and effort even as they lost a 15 point lead mid-way through the 3rd quarter.

Cheryl Miller locker room interview with Raja Bell, TNT breaks. TNT’s The Closer is coming soon.

Ernie again asks Sir Chas for his take on the game. Sir Chas says that Diop hurt Mavs because he slowed them down to much. Magic chimes in that the Mavs won because they were able to push the tempo and not get bogged down in a half court game. Sir Chas says that Dirk took over in second half. Realizing what he has just said, Sir Chas launches into a rant about officiating and complains that refs took all of the great players out of the game. (Ernie gently reminds Sir Chas that neither Nash, Nowitzki, Howard nor Marion had foul trouble.)

Jet agrees with Sir Chas. Jet remarks that Suns now know what they need to get over the hurdle next year. Jet says that with the return of Stoudamire, Suns will have a much better chance of getting by the Rockets next season.

Magic enthusiastically says that Nash and Lebron are doing for the league today what he and Bird did for the league in 1980. Sir Chas breaks into song about Steve Nash. Jet declares his undying manlove for Tim Thomas.

TNT breaks for Steve Nash’s post-game. Sir Chas says something about Nowitzki looking like Kyra Sedgwick.

TNT shows highlight of Josh Howard drawing a charge on Boris Diaw. Jet says Diaw is going to be a star. Magic enthusiastically says Atlanta really messed up by trying to play Diaw at the pg, and says next year Suns will be much better because they can play Diaw at the one.

TNT shows highlight of Josh Howard grabbing offensive rebound with put back. Sir Chas states that playing Diop really played into the Suns’ hands.

TNT shows Josh Howard’s stats, 20 pts and 15 rebounds. Jet praises Marion, and says the Mavs really need a player like Marion if they ever want to advance to the Finals.

TNT shows clips of Josh Howard’s 2nd half defense on Steve Nash. Sir Chas says Nash showed heart of a champion. Magic says something incomprehensible. Jet agrees with Chas.

TNT shows highlight of Josh Howard stealing outlet pass from Leandro Barbosa. Magic praises Barbosa, and then says that it’s better to not have turnovers than to have turnovers.

TNT shows highlight of Josh Howard canning a three to give the Mavs a 10 pt lead with a minute and a half to go. Sir Chas points out that Mavs were playing right into the Suns hands by playing Diop.

TNT shows highlight of Josh Howard rushing into a burning building and saving two children and a kitten. Sir Chas wonders why fire departments have Dalmatians.

TNT post-game with Shawn Marion. Cheryl Miller interviews Boris Diaw. Craig Sager gives Tim Thomas a reach-around. More on TNT’s closer.

Ernie asks analysts for their take on the upcoming NBA finals--

Jet asks, “who’s playing?”

Magic enthusiastically states that the outcome will be determined, not by superstars, but by the respective teams’ role players. Specifically, says Magic, “the matchup of Terry, Stackhouse and Dampier v. Williams, Walker, and Posey will determine the outcome of the series.” Magic then picks the Heat because Riley is the better coach.

Reggie Miller phones in and unequivocally states “I’m not saying the Mavs will win, I’m just saying they can win.” Sir Chas gives Jet an incredulous look.

Jet gazes at his navel and then says, “Mavericks.” Magic says he disagrees with Kenny because the Mavs have no answer for D-Wade and Shaq, and that championships are won by superstars.

Chas shuffles his feet under his chair and then says, “Dallas.” Sir Chas’ head explodes. Jet mutters something about North Carolina.

Ernie thanks TNT crew and then throws it to a promo of The Closer.

Your copious notes were tainted with humor and a dry wit. If you expect to ever make it in sports journalism, you'll need to suck a lot more than that.

I suggest you work on it.
