Default OVER/UNDER bring on the Kings!

What a FREAKIN long off-season!!! Even with all the moves and injuries, I am more excited and realistically optimistic about this group of players than I have been in literally years. If only fate smiles, this core could win it all…and if not this year then certainly within the next three.

This will be year 2 of the OVER/UNDER and we have two very interesting new wrinkles to inform you about that we feel will make the scoring more interesting and will give the gutsier players a chance to make up for a missed “bet” here or there…but beware, there are also danger in this new addition…
The first very interesting addition is that this year all scores will be tracked…allowing us to determine the true OVER/UNDER players from the spares…Ultimately allowing us to crown the OVER/UNDER MVP at the end of the season!…So there will be no, “Just put that one behind ya” because we will be tracking your numbers all year…and either praising you or chiding every step of the way

The second new piece to this year’s OVER/UNDER is something we call “Heaven or Hell”. The “Heaven or Hell” will be an extra and totally optional selection that you may choose to add to your already required selections. The selection is optional, because safer players will often want to avoid it…but those of you who like to lay it on the line will be able to do so and potentially will be greatly rewarded for it! You see, it can be Heaven to choose to play the “HoH”(pounced “Ho” ) because if you get it correct it is worth 2 points…so if you went 2 out of four on the normal selections, but nailed the HoH you have just gone a perfect 4-4. And if you go 3-4 but nail the HoH, you have just gotten yourself a total score of 5 points! But what is a little Heaven without a little Hell, right? The HoH can also be the missile that will have whiners like doc saying “You’ve sunk my Baylor Battleship!”, because if missed, the HoH automatically takes two points off your total score. So one can easily see the possible rewards and regrets the HoH can bring…by the way, the HoH will be supplied by everyone’s favorite flag, U2.

now that all the beginning of the season rambling and jibba-jabba is done…

here we go, this one counts….Have fun, don’t choke, and baby arm…

OVER/UNDER – Damp’s rebounds + Harris’ assists: 15

OVER/UNDER – Howard’s points minus Booth’s rebounds: 12

OVER/UNDER – Dirk’s blocks + Dirk’s rebounds + Dirk’s points: 33

OVER/UNDER – Margin O Victory for Mavs: 10

and if you want to give her a try…
…the first ever Heaven or Hell – Harris’ minutes minus Terry’s minutes: 7

IF YOU’VE NEVER PLAYED BEFORE … you may need an explanation of the rules and scoring system…Each Mavs’ game day, a new OVER/UNDER thread will be posted and all you have to is place your “bet” based upon our predictions…For example, One prediction might be Dirk’s points for the night…and if we set it at 27, you have to decided if you think Dirk will score “over” 27 or “under”. Once you have made your mind on all the problems you simply place your bets… example: over, under, under over. “Is that all?”, you say…well, almost. If we have made a prediction that you feel will be the exact correct answer and you want to choose our prediction, then instead of answering with an “over” or an “under” you can choose the “even”. Now the “even” selection is much riskier, and the chances of you being correct in your prediction are much lower than a simple “over” or “under”…. So, we make the correct “even” prediction worth 100% more than an “over” or “under” selection. Whereas a missed “over’ or “under” selection is only worth 1point plus or minus, the “even” selection is worth 2points if gotten correctly and only worth 1point if missed. Simply make your selections before the tip of each game(entries posted after tip off will be treated with total subjectivity…if you are close enough to tip off your selections may be accepted, if well into the first quarter…not so much…but it is always ultimately up the he OVER/UNDER manager for that particular game to decide) Edit your answers as many times as you desire before tip…any selections edited after tip will be unequivocally denied. To be considered a participant for any OVER/UNDER, you must complete all the required selections (you may ignore the “HoH” which is an optional pick)…that is, you can’t choose to ignore some while answering the ones you feel you have a beat on. This is pretty much it…Go Play!
