Default Parking at the AAC

Does anyone know the best and affordable parking outside of parking at the AAC?

There's a parking lot underneath the I-35 bridge. I'm afraid I can't really give you directions, I just know how to "get to it" when I'm driving. Its right across from the Dallas Aquarium. It only costs five bucks to park there at night - and is the cheapest parking I've ever found. Another option is to park for free at the Trinity Railway Express stop in Irving and buy a couple of train tickets. They aren't very much and it drops you off directly in front of the arena.

There are also some parking options at nearby restaurants - Hooters has a bus, but I don't know the details on that.

Edit to add: If you're looking at a map, the section of freeway I'm referring to is actually 366/Woodall Rogers Freeway E. and it is east of the arena.

The parking under Woodall Rogers is the cheapest for sure... everything else will be $10 if you get there early. Arena parking is always $10, some of the privately run lots nearby will start raising prices as they go on.

I always park in Lot C, directly east of the arena on the other side of an apartment complex. For anyone who has to get going north on 35E to go home, lemme tell you, that's the place to park! You take two right turns to get right on the onramp to WR to 35E with no choices. Perfection.

Rockets34Life, I take it you are from Houston, so let me reassure you, parking here in Dallas will be like a frolic through an empty field for you, compared to H-town. No worries.

If you show up about an hour and half before tipoff time you can usually grab one of the metered parking slots across from Hooters (right by the I-35 bridge). If you max out the meter (I think it takes about $3 in quarters) it shouldn't run out until right after the game is done (although I think the parking enforcement is really active on game nights, because I was once ticketed after an overtime game)...

the meter I parked at for Saturday's game gave you an hour for every quarter....so we spent $1.25 and had an hour remaining when we left. just drive past hooters and turn left at the next light....those meters on the road are a good deal.

P.S. I hope you leave the game broken hearted.

If I don't have a parking pass, I usually illegally park in the El Fenix parking lot or in the apartment complex across the street.

There are a few spots on the back side of the apt complex along an alleyway that don't get towed.. the actual apartment complex itself is gated and as of about a month ago, they now have a dude in the little building next to the gate. I presume just to keep Dooby out.

There are also like three free parking spots to the north of that complex across the street (Houston?) just east of Cedar Springs. They are metered but only until 5 or 6 PM.. or at least that's how it was last time I looked closely.

Sure is a hell of a lot of trouble to save $2-$5.

No they don't, but sneaking in a flask is a good way to offset that particular financial encumbrance...

ah yes, those collegiate football game habits die hard.

Alas, I'm still trying to figure out how to fit a bong in my pants...
