Default rose to knicks

ESPN - ESPN's Steven A. Smith is reporting that the Raptors have traded Guard-Foward Jalen Rose and a Pick to the Knicks for Foward-Center Antonio Davis. Rose has been rumored to New York for almost two Years now; it almost came to fruition last Year when Vince Carter was on the move.

It is in all likelihood that the Pick will be the Denver one acquired in the Raptor-Nets trade last Year. Rose has Career averages of 12 PPG, 3 RPG, and 2.5 APG. He's capable of playing PG, SG, and SF. Davis has Career averages of 5 PPG, and 5 RPG, and is a hard-nosed Frontcourt Player capable of playing PF and C

What a blockbluster trade, clearly both teams improve heaps now.

Really though, why the hell are the Raptors giving the Knicks a first round pick?

because Davis is the final piece to their puzzle and withthe lottery protection, New York gets only money.

What a dumb ass trade for the Raptors. They think if they actually get cap room someone is gonna sign with them? Hell I think Bosh is out of there as soon as he gets the chance.

What are the Knicks doing? They are really in seach for some type of identity. Neither team improves in this trade.

When has Isaiah Thomas ever done anything that was reasonable as a gm?

Morris Peterson: $4,550,000 - $4,550,000
Eric Williams: $3,938,000 - $4,296,000
Mike James: $3,410,000 - $3,720,000
Chris Bosh: $3,348,000 - $4,235,220
Charlie Villanueva: $2,360,880 -$2,537,880
Rafael Araujo: $2,238,960 - $2,395,200
Jose Manuel Calderon: $2,190,000 - $0 (FA)
Matt Bonner: $2,000,000 - $2,000,000
Joey Graham: $1,388,400 - $1,492,440
Loren Woods: $780,000 - $0 (FA)
Pape Sow: $641,748 - $0 (FA)
Darrick Martin: ? - $0 (FA)

TOTALS (# of players under contract)

2005-2006 (14): $44,677,028
2006-2007 (9): $32,026,720

'05-'06 record: 16-30

By comparison, the Knicks '05-'06 payroll is $113,151,260 (+ Rose & - A. Davis).

For all that dough:

* they have the 3rd-worst OPP PPG;
* they have the 4th-worst PPG-OPP PPG differential;
* they are 3rd-last in assists;
* they are 5th-last in blocks;
* they lead the league in turnovers;
* they have the worst assist-turnover ratio;
* they are 4th in team technicals;

* Jamal Crawford is shooting 40%;
* prized acquisition Quentin Richardson is shooting 35%;
* much-ballyhooed rookie PG Nate Robinson is shooting 40%;
* the Knicks have NO ONE who is averaging even 1.0 block ppg;
* they have only 2 guys averaging a steal a game;
* they have two players (Allan Houston and Anfernee Hardaway) who are making $35 million between them diddling themselves on the bench

Best of all, their record is 14-30....
