Followill is talking about how he got his MVP ballot the other day and how he will be voting for Dirk. Who all gets these ballots? Just curious. I didn't know that broadcasters got to vote.

Well if Followill was smart he would vote Dirk in as first place then he would vote:
everyubody else in the world over Steve Nash Nash, LeBron, Kobe, Wade, etc. Completely leave them off the ballot.

oh man.............FINALLY!!! i can wake up tomorrow wit a smile, because the first thing every groggy morning to pop in my head is "did dallas win and/or san antonio lose last night?" and now i can FINALLY be able to have a smile while i take my dog out for his mornin pee....INCREDIBLE balance, very very impressed.
but one thing, i was NOT impressed that i hrushed home from work, which ended at 5 (Eastern Time, im in NJ), and try to catch the 4th qtr at home. Of course i had been following at work since tipoff but still wanted to see one friggin WIN. but, as i expected would happen, ABC decided to let Bill Walton commentate the stupid waste-of-a-team Lakers on my television screen rather than seeing my beloved MAVS. WELL SCREW IT...THEY WON, AND I AM ECSTATIC!!!!
LETS DO THIS DALLAS!!!!!!!!!
M.F.F.L.!!!!

Some bone-headed plays along the way (resulting in 4 TO) but it's nice to see Josh on the court again - 20 pts (6-14 FG, 8-9 FT), 5 rebs, 1 blk.

Mavs unexpectedly dismantle Denver. NBA officials ponder whether to give Denver 1 or 2 losses, they lose so bad. Josh Howard is back at 100% and shakes off the rust for 25 points, Dirk's Dirk, he'll get anywhere from 30-45 along with double digit rebounds. Let's do this!

I wonder if Denver gets 1 or 2 losses, personally I'm leaning more towards 2.

Anybody else hear the post-game press conference? AJ lit into Sefko. Really made him look like an incompetent idiot. Sefko started in with a question about bench play, and AJ cut him off with something like "I'm surprised you don't want to ask me about my tirade." Sefko was speechless. Then AJ challenged him on the incident that Sefko represented in the paper as a "tirade." He asked him if he had heard it. Asked him what did he say. Asked him what kind of foul language did he use. "Did I say God Bless America?"
After he showed him up for a bit, he said "But Eddie, what was your question?" So Eddie starts giving the question, and AJ cuts him off again. It was great. Then he actually kinda did it a third time, which was great. AJ really got his point across, and I don't think there's any love lost toward Sefko.

But why blast Sefko? (I could be wrong but I didn't believe he was the only one that reported the "tirade.")
And if he screamed and holered at a player for his shortcomings after the game... big deal anyway. The guards were atrocious in allowing penetration. And it would have been fine had they tried but they didn't even bother.

I heard that AJ postgame as well. Only thing I could think is that sefko reported an obscenity-laced tirade and AJ wasn't cursing. I've heard that he tries not to curese.

That's great video. I especially love the hand tapping on the side of the lectern. I don't know how much of that was sincere emotion and how much of it was AJ playing it up, but either way: well played!

so how does the last couple weeks of poor team play and amazing individual play for Dirk affect his MVP chances??

I don't think the "poor team play"--if that's even how it's construed by the voters, all things considered--will play much of a factor, other than to prevent the trump card that the best record in the West (or better yet, the league as a whole) would have been.
Dirk's individual play of late certainly helps, but remember that he's not the only one. Lebron James is playing out of this universe of late, so if extra credit is given to closers then he's in the mix. Billups has had strong performances of late, including one-upping both Terry and Nash in recent games. I don't follow Wade all that closely, but I'm hearing a lot of buzz about him, too. And--gah--there's that hot little stretch Kobe is on.
I would not be surprised for this year's MP3 race to be the most...oh, how to describe it...diluted (?) race in quite a while. I expect the votes to be pretty spread out. It might even be the year that a Tony Parker could sneak in. I wouldn't be plussed if any of the following won: Dirk, Nash, Kobe, Lebron, Billups, Wade, Parker. I'd be slightly plussed if Marion won, but I would understand.

The way I see it, it's between Nash, Dirk and Billups. (Same as it's been all year) Billups had fallen off the radar for a while, but it seems he's making a comeback. Seeing as how Detroit will almost certainly finish with the best record, I wouldn't be at all surprised. Nash has a case simply because the Suns will win their division and because of the stupid seeding rule. Dirk still has a very strong case, but the award almost never goes to a player whose team doensn't win their division. However, taking the ungodly injury problems this team has endured over the past month, I could easily see Dirk being the first guy since Moses Malone to do so.

I was actually right. Eddie Sefko wrote an article about it the other day, I don't know if any one has posted it in here, but apparently Avery went bazerk on the team and was cussing out every one and people all down the hall could hear him. That rocks. Go Avery.,

The division thing is a terrible anomally this year and I am hoping the voters can see it and if they cannot see it then they do not deserve a vote. My goodness the suns win a division but they are 5.5 behind dallas? If they are that stupid (and they might very well be) then Carmelo Anthony needs to be in there also since they are winning their division. No matter they are 16.5 out of first and won't have hca in any playoff.
