We were 5-1 this year without Caron earlier.

It's a combo of the team being exposed and losing all confidence without Dirk. Dirk just coming back. No Tyson. Terry and Kidd regressing into 8th men at best.

Part of it is momentum. They sucked for 9 games so it's hard to get out of the funk, even with Dirk playing like a God.

Yes, lets not forget how important Tyson is to this team. Dirk called him their MVP earlier in the season. This game could (probably would) have a different feel with him.... That said, they could still really use a wing scorer.

His shooting has been horrific but I wouldn't say he's a non-factor. a 6-1 assists/turnover ratio is great no matter how you slice it.

Especially considering he has 6 assists when we only have 13 made baskets.

Like I said, this is no longer a personnel issue. It sucks to miss Butler and Chandler, but their absence isn't responsible for barely scraping together 37 points against the Pistons.

What you're seeing here is a team that lacks confidence and has lost its groove. Fortunately, they still have plenty of time to get it figured out before mid-April.

He has no confidence to get inside. He can't hit 3s anymore. He can't shoot off the dribble. He is pretty much worthless on offense.

You could make that argument against any assist box score. The bottom line is, Dirk and Terry and many others have mentioned how Kidd gets them the ball not only in the sweet spot on the court, but the sweet spot in their shooting motion.

FF41, I don't disagree with the passing. But the Mavs need **him** to score. Teams can basically not even guard him because they know he can't score. Much like they used to do to Damp.

Exactly. I mean good lord, Kidd is shooting 34% from the field, 33% from three (before today's 0-4) and going to the line .9 times a game.

At this point, I'm sorry, but he is no better than Derek Fisher.

You just CANNOT have a starting PG who averages 8 ppg on 34/33 shooting and doesn't go to the line at all. Honestly, Kidd is not a starting caliber PG.
