Michael Jackson taken to hospital

http://www.cnn.com/2009/SHOWBIZ/Musi...son/index.html

(CNN) -- Entertainer Michael Jackson was taken to a hospital on Thursday, according to a Los Angeles Fire Department official.
A Los Angeles fire official told CNN that paramedics arrived at Michael Jackson's home after a 911 call.

Fire Capt. Steve Ruda told CNN a 911 call came in from a west Los Angeles residence at 12:21 p.m. and the patient was treated and transferred to the UCLA Medical Center.

Asked specifics of the patient's condition, the spokesman said he could not discuss them because of federal privacy laws

Michael Jackson Dies

Posted Jun 25th 2009 5:20PM by TMZ Staff

Michael JacksonWe've just learned Michael Jackson has died. He was 50.

Michael suffered a cardiac arrest earlier this afternoon at his Holmby Hills home and paramedics were unable to revive him. We're told when paramedics arrived Jackson had no pulse and they never got a pulse back.

A source tells us Jackson was dead when paramedics arrived.

Once at the hospital, the staff tried to resuscitate him but he was completely unresponsive.

We're told one of the staff members at Jackson's home called 911.

La Toya ran in the hospital sobbing after Jackson was pronounced dead.

Michael is survived by three children: Michael Joseph Jackson, Jr., Paris Michael Katherine Jackson and Prince "Blanket" Michael Jackson II.

---------------------

Although he was a weirdo, he was definitely an icon and legend.

He became a weirdo...

...but nobody can doubt his contributions to the music world. He was a revolutionary entertainer, not only in dance but in song.

Rest in Peace Michael.

It may turn out to be true, but I don't appreciate you posting this before it has been officially confirmed.

The greatest entertainer to EVER live, in my opinion.

This is absolutely shocking. I grew up immortalizing Michael... to see him go at such a young age.. I'm just absolutely shocked.

He went goofy in his personal life but no one can deny his musical presence in this industry.

Eh, he certainly revolutionized the music industry, but it's still the music industry, and it still has been basically going downhill for 40 years. I've never liked his music.

I'm sad that he died, but in the way that I'd be sad that any other person who died.

He was never found guilty. How do you know for a fact that he raped those boys? I bet those families saw the opportunity knocking: awkward social behavior, messed up appearance, Never land Ranch, loved children (maybe that's just the way he was, a man-child that truly never did any harm) just a weird dude... I can see why he would be an easy target. I don't know how you can be so sure.

Best wishes to the family, friends, fans, etc...

As for the 'controversies' around M. Jackson...If there were victims, then I wish them a full physical, emotional and mental recovery!!! If not, then I hope that those who feed the myth will leave it alone.

Respects and best wishes, the chapter of life is now closed. What a wild week for celebrity deaths.

With that, I bid you all a good night.

I'm just saying, it's not always good to jump to conclusions before you know the story in it's entirety.

Tape recorded statement from the first "victim's" father: "If I go through with this, I win big-time. There's no way I lose. I will get everything I want and they will be destroyed forever...Michael's career will be over"

1. The first boy made his "confession" after he was given a freaking SEDATIVE and the accusations were not made until after Michael and the boys father had a fall out.

2. The mother of the child SUPPORTED MICHAEL.

3. The boy's father is the one who approached Michael Jackson for a settlement. Yes you read that right. Michael Jackson did NOT offer them a settlement. The settlement was offered BY THE BOY'S FATHER. Instead of getting justice for the supposed wrong doings done to his son the child's father wanted nothing but a lump of cash. How nice.

Those are some pretty telling facts.

Fast forward to the second case against a Michael Jackson who was no longer the public's darling and who was now seen as an all around freak of nature and possible child molester. He went into that trial facing 9 separate charges and they COULD NOT PIN HIM WITH A SINGLE ONE. They found no DNA evidence, no witnesses, and no physical evidence that the boy had ever been sexually assaulted.

In fact the testimony of the psychologist that examined Michael Jackson directly over those 5 months stated that he did NOT fit the profile of a pedophile. They stated that he was an extremely mentally regressed adult that viewed life as a child.

Oh and get this, the mother of that child, Janet Arvizo, had been caught in the past of COACHING HER CHILDREN IN ORDER TO HELP HER WIN LEGAL DISPUTES that she had filed against various persons, some of which included J.C. Penny and the West Covina, CA police department. Go ahead and read up on the mother. She was a freaking money hungry psycho.

I knew this thread would turn into a "did he molest kids" thread.

We'll never really know...

but he was the greatest entertainer of my generation. The first concert i ever attended. The Bad Tour - Olympic Stadium - Munich, Germany - 1988 (i think).

Here's an awful opinion:

I am too young to get the Michael Jackson thing. I am 27 years old. I didn't get into that whole thing in the 80's, I was too young. I wasn' paying attention to music until it was too late. I have followed Jackson most of my life as a weirdo and a curiosity.

So it's that part of me that wonders...is this what happens when these kinds of people outlive their celebrity and genius?

Certainly there's a portion of the man's career that warrants copious celebration. He changed the world. He's probably the most famous guy on the planet tomorrow morning...

But is this what happens when Kurt Cobain and Chris Farley don't happen? Did he out-live his celebrity and degrade into tabloid sleaziness unknown?

I'm not saying that he should have died earlier, that's horrible. It's just interesting to note what happens to people when they get severely weird for a number of decades. Most people who get that weird either die or change again along the way. Respect to Jackson...he stuck to the weird.

I wish I could take credit for "can no longer beat it" but that was someone else's cleverness...

No doubt the kid's parents got greedy & started exaggerating to drive the price up, but that doesn't mean the kid was never molested... Just because there was no evidence of anal penetration (the only testable physical evidence of sexual abuse) doesn't mean Michael Jackson didn't act inappropriately with that child - there are LOTS of things you can do to a human body that don't leave physical evidence...

And I like how you conveniently left out the FIRST child he molested - you know, the one that never went to trial because Michael Jackson paid the family a HUGE settlement to keep it out of court.... Why would an innocent man pay someone millions of dollars to stay quiet?

Take it from here, Chris Rock!

So it's that part of me that wonders...is this what happens when these kinds of people outlive their celebrity and genius?

the first concert I ever went to was his Thriller tour at Reunion Arena. I was 9 years old, and I still vividly remember him doing the moon walk and being in complete awe. he was an amazing talent. from what I have read and seen, his dad really screwed him up. so unfortunate. I will always encourage my son to be the best he can be and to pursue his dreams. but I will NEVER push my dreams on him (he probably won't have any interest in becoming the best editor of our generation, so no worries there...).
