Does that mean LJ is staying in Kansas City? If so, they could be a darkhorse in the AFC.

Matt Cassel in Kansas City? Don't forget to draft Dwayne Bowe in your fantasy leagues!

Sucks for Tyler Thigpen, he was actually pretty decent last year.

Bowe isn't a sleeper. Sleeper = Bradley!

Cutler's pretty pissed (understandably) about Denver trying to trade him. He's saying he wants out now.

I'm not really sure what Denver was trying to gain from all this. If they really wanted Cassel over Cutler then their GM needs to be fired.

Link? If this is true, the new regime in Denver is very very stupid.

Send cutler to the titans! Should have drafted him anyway (although i'm not sure what he could do with the crappy receivers we've had here for years).

Oh I gotcha. Wow. I just think that's a boneheaded move. I thought last season you could debate Cutler was a top 5 out of all the young qb's. And then all of those Elway comparisons throughout the season? Something about him personally though leads you to believe he's a prick. Maybe its just his confidence. But they finally find a qb and throw it away for Cassel who they didn't even get.

That's sort of my same feeling. Cutler hasn't hit his peak yet at all. He's still a young qb yet his progression is alot further than Cassel. They deserve whatever they get as far as i'm concerned. I hope they send him to the Vikings. Or maybe I shouldn't since that's the only position stopping the Vikings from becoming elite.

It might've been a dumb move by the FO of Denver, but I can totally understand McDaniels' Point of View if that's actually the case with the Cutler debate. Cassel and McDaniels already have a connection and know what the expect from each other so they could hit the ground running. It's not going to be pretty in Denver now but that's the choice they made, now they've gotta try to fix it.

Don't forget about Tony Gonzales, he said he wanted out of KC too. I don't know if Cassel and the #3 pick are enough to entice them to want to stay, but it's up to the Chiefs to actually move them or not.

T.O., Bills agree to one-year contract

link

Wide receiver Terrell Owens has agreed to a deal with the Buffalo Bills.

Owens signed a one-year, $6.5 million guaranteed deal, according to a source.

FOXSports.com was the first to report that Owens and agent Drew Rosenhaus were visiting Buffalo and that the Bills were expected to offer T.O. a one-year deal.

While his prior stints in Dallas, Philadelphia and San Francisco all ended badly, Owens is a major upgrade for a Bills team seeking more offensive firepower. Buffalo already was rebuffed earlier this offseason in attempts to sign wide receiver Laveranues Coles (Cincinnati) and running backs Fred Taylor (New England) and Kevin Jones (Chicago).

In an email sent to FOXSports.com on Friday morning, agent Drew Rosenhaus said there were "several teams" interested in Owens and he expected "to have a deal in place by the end of next week if not sooner."

Owens finished last season with more catches (69), receiving yards (1,052) and touchdowns (10) than any player on the Bills roster. In Buffalo, Owens could draw double-teams away from Lee Evans, who in the past two seasons hasn't come close to matching his 82-catch campaign from 2006.

The Bills also can't be certain about the availability of wideout James Hardy. A 2008 second-round pick, Hardy suffered torn knee ligaments last December against the New York Jets.

The Bills were 25th in the league in yards gained and didn't have a quarterback pass for more than 300 yards last season.

But while the Owens signing makes sense on many levels, history has shown there are major risks involved whenever Owens is added to a roster.

It's believed most — if not all — of the other teams in the market for a veteran wide receiver shied away from Owens because of his reputation as a selfish player and derisive locker room presence. Owens previously squabbled with veteran quarterbacks like Jeff Garcia and Donovan McNabb, so it's questionable how well he would handle any growing pains being experienced in 2009 by Bills neophyte starter Trent Edwards.

Another cloud of doubt enshrouding Owens: Is he is still an elite wide receiver or a player quickly on the decline like 30-something peers Marvin Harrison, Amani Toomer and Joey Galloway were in 2008? While he is coming off his eight 1,000-yard receiving campaigns in the past nine years, Owens turns 36 in December and did drop 33 passes in 2008.

Owens is among the most productive wide receivers in NFL history. He has 951 catches for 14,122 yards and 39 touchdowns in a 13-year NFL career.

The Cowboys cut him Thursday after three seasons. While his on-field performances were quite good, his behavior off the field — and sometimes on the sideline and in the huddle — made Owens too much of a distraction for team owner Jerry Jones.

"In the aftermath of the season, we talked about change," Jones said in a statement. "Some of what is changing involves the process and some of it involves people. This is a decision that was made based upon consideration for an entire team.

"We will move on now with a new team — a new attitude — and into a new stadium. The evaluation process and the prospect for change will continue at every level of the organization."

"I enjoyed having the opportunity to coach Terrell Owens, and I appreciate his contributions to our team over the past two years," added coach Wade Phillips, who wasn't around during T.O.'s first season in Dallas, in a press release.

It's a move from what seems like a desperate that might move them out of the middle of the pack, but is TO going to be happy with the situation though? Edwards seems like a pretty good QB but he's young and still learning. Buffalo is by nature a run-focused team, I doubt that'll really change. It might make things easier for the run game or Evans the speed WR, but that doesn't do anything for TO.

It just seems like a move from a team that really might not know what it's getting itself in to.

TO goes to the Buffalo Bills, joining the AFC East.
His kryptonite, Shawn Springs, goes to the Patriots, joining the AFC East.

Sucks for them, but I don't necessarily buy it was a reactionary signing. I'm sure that's not what you're saying but the perception could lead to that. They've been looking at options at CB since Samuel left, so enter Springs.

Looks like Cutler is going to get what he wants and will be traded...at least they're going to try to.

I would say Tampa, Detroit or Chicago is where he lands.

Please stay in the AFC.

If he goes to Chicago or Tampa, I'm going to be rather upset.

There's a new contender in the NFC. Or is there? Cutler may just be Jeff George. Golden arm all the tools, but nothing between the ears.

I still think it'll be a similar system to what they've ran the past year or so.
A lot of check-offs to the TEs or Forte and Hester will still be the big play. Opposing Ds can't stack the box and hold Forte because of the threat of Cutler's arm.

I think it's a win-win for both teams, the picks are going to do a lot of help rebuild Denver.

At least he didn't go to Washington. The last thing I wanted to see was another good QB in our conference.

Chicago just mortgaged the next few years, just like Jerry did with Joey Galloway... and it didn't work out for us, and it won't work out for them. And on the other side, watch Denver steadily rise with the improvement of their defense through the draft.

yes... they paid waaaay too much.

How the hell is a single 2nd round pick enough to outbid Denver on the QB they WANTED , and yet they RECEIVE 2 first-round picks, 1 3rd round pick, and a quality starting qb with good upside potential for their NUMBER 2 qb choice....? wtf?

TASTY

Chicago hasn't had anything consistently decent at the QB situation for decades, they went big to get a top-notch QB. If the defense can stay sharp, they'll be ok.

Denver needs to be smart with their draft selections, it's hard to screw up with that many picks though.

Boldin could be traded before draft
Quote:
Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Anquan Boldin may get his wish to be traded. Coach Ken Whisenhunt said Wednesday the team is willing to listen to offers.

Boldin has asked to be traded since last season after teammate Larry Fitzgerald received a four-year, $40 million contract. Boldin has two years remaining on the six-year, $33.99 million deal he signed in 2005. Though the team wants to give him an extension, the Cardinals aren't expected to give him a Fitzgerald-type deal.

Whisenhunt, speaking to Arizona reporters Wednesday, opened the door for the team to receive trade offers.

"Before the draft, you know there is going to be talk about Anquan and his situation and a trade," Whisenhunt said. "Since not a whole lot has changed with his contractual situation, we know that will come back. It would be foolish from out standpoint not to listen to those opportunities and see what actually exists. But I want to make the points -- our goal is to re-sign him to a long-term deal. That hasn't changed."

Boldin continues to bring up the idea of a trade. With contract talks at a standstill, the Cardinals can listen to offers before the draft. The Eagles and Giants might be at the top of the list.

Boldin is considered a No. 1 wide receiver so it could cost a No. 1 and No. 3 draft choice to acquire him.

Apparently Braylon is another target for the Giants...it seems like they've got their pick of Boldin or Braylon. I think they're going to make a splash at the draft.

As long as Eli is their QB, we have little to fear with either acquisition - their running game and defense is still what makes them tough (Plax was a stud and even he couldn't cover up Manning's mediocrity...)

If it's Boldin...that's a concern. The guy is a beast and isn't afraid of getting in the middle and can explode, it can wear down the defense just like the running game.

Oh, I agree about Boldin's badassness, I just don't think it makes a difference when the ball is being thrown out of bounds...

(also - have they done anything to beef up their pass protection? If it was half as good as their run-blocking they'd be a lethal offense...)

True...it is all on Eli to get things right.

Man...I can't wait for football to come back.

T. Holt is a Jaguar. 3 year deal.

Still haven't heard much about Braylon or Boldin trades as of late.

Sports writers keep linking them to the Giants and the Eagles (or anyone else that can be a thorn in the Cowboys' side...)

All I know is that neither of them will be playing for Dallas - here's to hoping Al Davis snatches one of them up...
