Scouting the Rockets
While it's the second straight meeting for the Mavericks, the Rockets had a game sandwiched between the two games against Dallas, at home Monday against Sacramento. ... The Rockets were missing Kevin Martin and Kyle Lowry for Saturday's 101-99 home loss to the Mavericks. Neither of the starting guards is expected back Tuesday, and Lowry could be out for the season. ... One thing about the Rockets is they are unbiased winners and losers: 12-13 against teams with winning records and just 14-10 against sub-.500 teams ... Saturday's loss to the Mavericks was a rarity in a close game. The Rockets are 8-5 in games decided by five points or fewer.
Scouting the Mavericks
A victory would give the Mavericks the season series against the Rockets, which could come in handy in any tiebreakers for playoff seedings. The teams close out the three-game season series April 18 at AAC. ... The Mavericks have won the last five games in the series. ... Brandan Wright has had 14- and 15-point games during the last four-game stretch. He topped 14 points only once in the last two seasons before this stretch. He had 15 points in a game last April 1 for New Jersey. ... His seven blocks Saturday in Houston were his career best. ... Jason Terry had a pair of 3-pointers in the fourth quarter against Houston on Saturday, bringing his NBA-best total to 35 treys in the fourth quarter this season. He's shooting better than 40 percent from long range in the final period.

We still have chance for 3rd seed at the end of regular season, need to win this game, can't fall down.
Strong finish please, Go Mavs!

Can't believe there are only sixteen games left. Such a short time to try to work West and Haywood back in, and they could be out a few more games. Also a short time to have patience for Odom's game to come around. What a weird season.
In any case, Go Mavs!

Need this one, gonna be tough. Never easy to beat the same team two times in a row. Hope we blow them out though.

What comforts me about the average basketball they've played lately is that the exact things they are missing are West and Haywood (well, except Chandler, of course but that's a different topic). The OT win in Houston was big.
I think Odom will come around before the season ends. Tonight should be a good game.

Haywood out tonight it seems:
Quote:
Rick Carlisle says he does NOT expect Brendan Haywood (sprained right knee) to return tonight vs. HOU, buts adds: "That could change."

your statement doesn't mean anything because the majority of ppl here dont expect much from him
even if he has a good night it wont matter until he does it on a consistent basis

In terms of seeding:
Mavericks can add another tiebreaker to their collection tonight. They already own Jazz, Suns, Nuggets and Rockets, Clippers and Grizzlies is still possible.

Carter not helping at all.
Lamar with the most effort he's had this entire month.
