I appreciate Denver's style, too. Carmelo and Iverson are both great at getting their own offense along with setting up cutting teammates or the open jumpshot. I don't know what the numbers are, but it seems like a good portion of Denver's points are coming off of layups and dunks. Seems like they play similar to GS except that they focus more on scoring inside. That's what I gather from this game, anyway -- haven't really watched much of Denver this season.

I'd agree with that. Melo's really impressed me as of late. I thought he was one of the more overrated players in the league going into last season, but he may honestly be the best scorer in the league at this point.

What do more Mavs fans want, to get into the playoffs and possible have Dirk back for a playoff push, or be the 9th seed and keeping your pick from the Nets?

Should we lose tomorrow, all three of our records will be the same.

Bottom line is that the Mavs still control their own destiny. A split with the Warriors in the remaining two games puts them in a great (and I mean great) position to make the playoffs given GSW has a pretty tough schedule ahead of them and the Mavs will win the tiebreaker. Two wins against the Warriors almost assures the Mavs of a playoff spot (assuming the Mavs win against the Clipps, the Sonics twice, and the Blazers). In fact if the Mavs don't at least split with GSW, then they don't deserve the playoff spot.

Default Utah Flying Under the Radar

The Nuggets seem to be hot right now and that's bad news for Utah. The Jazz making the playoffs is still a question mark. Utah has 25 losses (Nuggets with 28) and their remaining schedule is horrendous. They play at Minnesota (lost there once already this year 111-100), have Washington at home (Wizards are 8-2 in their last 10), and then finish the season with 6 games against playoff contenders (San Antonio X 2; @ New Orleans; @ Dallas; at home vs Houston; at home vs Denver). I don't think it's far-fetched for the Jazz to lose 6 or 7 of those games and ending up with 31 or 32 losses.

We're at GS with no Dirk but it's the 2nd night of a back to back for GS. I'd say this could go either way.

The way I see it it was bad, because Denver was already out and had once more loss then us. My mind set was just have them lose and keep pushing them further out

Jazz lose to the T-Wolves. Utah now has 26 losses and they are officially in trouble for making the playoffs (along with the Nuggets, Warriors and Mavs). Nuggets might win the division.

Kirilenko is out with a calf injury. He's wearing a boot. No timetable on his return although he says its not serious. They have a potentially tough home game against the Wizards tomorrow night. Will AK-47 be back? Also, Okur is out with a stomach virus, not sure if he will be back tomorrow either. Then they have another game against the T-Wolves at home (should be a win), and then they have a very difficult 6 games against playoff contenders including away games against the Spurs, Mavs, and Hornets. Their home games during this stretch are against the Spurs, Nuggets, and Rockets.

Losing 5 more games is well within the realm of possibility and 31 losses is a big maybe right now for the playoffs. The Wizards game tomorrow night is a big one for Jazz fans.

Doesn't it seem like Okur gets a stomach virus every other week?

they got the wizards and minnesota coming up next... they're home games and they're 32-4 at home... they should be 50-26 after that... they'd have to go like 0-6 or 1-5 in the last 6 to miss the playoffs... considering how well they play at home, I just don't see it happening

but then again, crazier shit has happened ;D

Wow I just checked the schedules again. Denver, Dallas, and GS all have at least 3 or 4 games against some bad teams in the last stretch.

UTAH though has the last 7 games against the best in the West and its brutal, I can realistically see them being out of the playoffs...if the rest of the teams take care of business against the easier competition
