Miami just dropped 40 in the first quarter in Phoenix. The score is 67-63 at the half, with the Heat ahead.

Every phoenix loss is a good loss.

I surely thought the Rockets would be better than they're showing right now. However, a loss by them is always good.
I never get tired of a Suns loss either.
SA has a few tough games coming up. GS, Lakers, Denver, and Suns this week. Duncan will return against GS so we shall see how the weather this stretch.

We're still chasing the hornets?
Could somebody please get it into some kind of regular gear and beat them?

Wow, hard to believe with as bad as we've played that we're only 2 games behind the Suns (who are 5-4 in their last 9 games btw).

Duncan is out tonight against GS. I think the Warriors could steal this game.

It would do a lot for their mindset, San Antonio has annually owned GS mentally.

I'm surprised Duncan made the trip at all. He could have sat out tonight and against the Lakers. He's participated in 2 full practices without incident to the ankle but Pop is erring on the side of caution. Probably a good thing since a lot of basketball is left to play.
It's going to be a good game I think. I'm off to watch now. Might post after.

Warriors are getting quite a few good looks at 3's against the Spurs D so far... but wouldn't you know, they're not falling like they do against us so the Spurs seem well in control so far.

some pretty good storylines tonight
1. there are a TON of teams in the East right around .500 right now and a lot of them were playing Tuesday
2. 12-10 Toronto beat 10-11 Atlanta -- Ford left the court in a stretcher after a flagrant foul from Horford (I hope he's okay)
3. NBA finals participant, 10-12 Cleveland beat the 10-11 Pacers, with Larry Hughes going for 36 in Lebron's return
4. Surprising 11-10 Washington, who I feel have dealt with the loss of Gilbert extremely well, beat 3-16 Minnesota (Craig Smith went for 36 (yeah, I know))
5. Kidd's team loses again, they are now 9-13 (lost to the Clippers, Kaman is having a great year)
6. Detroit beats Memphis
7. Looks like Chicago is slowly regaining their form winning by 27 tonight (granted, it was against KD's Sonics, but they have won 5 out of the last 7)
8. surprise of the night, Portland wins in Utah--Martell Webster had a hell of a game (hitting huge three pointers) Martell really reminds of me of a young Michael Finley

Warriors get the win on the Spurs. They really missed Duncan tonight with Parker and Ginobli both struggling. They had 11 of the 21 Spurs turnovers. You could see why they resigned Bonner and that Udoka will fit it come playoff time though he's not getting the minutes right now.
Props to the Warriors.

7 of the leagues top 10 records belong to the Western conference right now.
So....thanks again to the East for showing up for another stellar season.

I'd love to see the difference in the win % between the west and east but Boston would throw it off a little.

Not really. Boston has had a pretty cupcake schedule thus far. In the West, the best team they've played is Denver, I believe. They've also played the Kings and the Wolves, I think. I'm always going back and forth with my C's friend and it seems they are always playing the Knicks or the Raps without Bosh.... or the Cavs without LeBron... etc.

Oh trust me, I think the Cs are overrated due to hype and their cupcake schedule so far. I'm just saying that as of right now they would throw off the easts horrible win % a little because of their good record so far.

i immediately had feelings of animosity and negativity towards horford but i feel better after reading this (taken from sekou smith, the hawks' beat reporter):
Quote:
I’ll be the first person to sound off in defense of this guy, because long before everyone else had vacated the premises Tuesday night, Horford made his way to Piedmont Hospital to check on Ford, who remained under observation overnight but reportedly had movement in all of his extremities.
Horford was one of several people affiliated with the Hawks to go directly to the hospital to check on Ford - Dominique Wilkins and Josh Smith’s father Pete Smith were there, too - and make sure he knew that what happened was purely accidental.
Horford, I’m told, waited quite a while for Ford to get done with tests just to make sure he got the chance to speak with him personally. And when told that Horford came to check on him and wanted to speak with him, Ford let it be known that he knew Horford’s lick wasn’t intentional and that he welcomed Horford to stop by and visit.

cant believe people thought horford did that on purpose.
if youve played basketball you would know he wasnt doing it to be dirty just trying to block it.

it was late in the game and the raptors were up by a decent amount. upon first glance, it does look dirty.

8 point lead with 1:15 left... thats not a sign of running up the score and no one should have thought it was dirty because of that.

I hope the Mavs are stockpiling film from every game the W's lose this year so they can figure out what the hell they need to do to better slow them down.
