Completely agree, draft night would make a lot of sense to trade AD.
NY, LAL, and Boston all have enticing trade pieces but NY would have the edge IMO mainly for the reason you mention.

Once AD is traded potential FA destinations will begin to align.

I just don't see in what universe the Pelicans prefer RJ Barrett to Jayson Tatum and at least one additional first round pick in this year's draft regardless of what Zion wants. Tatum fell victim to the Celtics dumpster fire this year, but pair him with Jrue Holiday and Zion and you have a balanced core and could potentially compete in a year or two. Winning cures all (except Kawhi's hamstring).

I’d imagine Knicks throw in additional 1st or a combo of Knox/DSJ or other young guys.
