Since I am so bored and we are all hungry for trades, I thought that I would post this for people to post what trade the Mavs are going to do next. The difference here is, I was thinking of making it a game with perhaps a prize or something involved. Why would I do this? I can't imagine anyone guessing what trade the Mavs will do next. The trades are always out of left field. Actually the Terry trade wasn't too surprising, because it was rumored before, except with Josh Howard in the mix.

However, I was thinking of making it, the winner who gets within 80% of what the trade will be, gets the prize. Nobody will get it on the dot (I.E. 2nd rounder thrown in, etc.)

Anyways, any ideas are welcome. The boards seem a little slow lately, and I wanted to do this to spice things up a bit.

If no one is interested, then just lock the thread up, but we should at least give it a chance. I haven't thought of any hard pressed rules or anything yet. I was thinking of a time limit though. Like if a trade isn't made before the first pre-season game, then the game is over for the time being.

Since August 24th is the deadline for Laettner and Stack, I was thinking of a rule before then too. Like if someone predicts the trade on that day, they get a bonus prize.

Anyways, these are just brainstorming, but I hope some people are interested.

i was just kidding... but i do expect an increase of ridiculous trades proposals. But i dont think that this is a bad idea.

Dallas trades: SF Josh Howard (8.6 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 1.5 apg in 23.7 minutes)
Dallas receives: C Yao Ming (17.4 ppg, 9.0 rpg, 1.5 apg in 32.8 minutes)
Change in team outlook: +8.8 ppg, +3.5 rpg, and 0.0 apg.

Houston trades: C Yao Ming (17.4 ppg, 9.0 rpg, 1.5 apg in 32.8 minutes)
Houston receives: SF Josh Howard (8.6 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 1.5 apg in 67 games)
Change in team outlook: -8.8 ppg, -3.5 rpg, and 0.0 apg.

TRADE ACCEPTED

Due to Dallas and Houston being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. Dallas and Houston had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out unless trade exceptions were used for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

This will happen because Nelson will coach the Rockets and be their GM next season and he will want to play small ball. JHo is the perfect center for Houston. Dallas does this for cap relief and for a backup C behind Pavel.

Mavs trade Stackhouse to Charlotte for trade exception and 1st rounder.
Charlotte Trades Drobnjak to Mavs for trade exception and 2nd rounder.

Warriors trade Dampier to Mavs for trade exception and 1st rounder.
Mavs trade Henderson to Warriors for Dale Davis.

Mavs trade Bradley to Utah for 2nd rounder.

Those are the first 5 trades I see the Mavs making. My head tells me that other guys are involved in the trades and that's why we haven't done this already. I don't know who it would be, though.

Today's events make me edit these trades:
Drobnjak was traded to Atlanta, so take him and the 2nd rounder out of the trades.
The Mavs now take Eschmeyer with the trade exception they were using for Drobnjak. Money to the Warriors (Small Amount).
The first rounder for Dampier turns into a 2nd rounder.

I see it promoting buckshotting, but since Arkuo's trades have no chance of happening, there really isnt any need for anyone to post those kinds.

Why Dallas does it: Dallas would reveive a solid rebounding lineup of centers in Smiles and Drbio, along with a decent 1,000,000 ppg scoring SG in Murphy3. We'd be packed with rebounding skill in our frontcourt if this trade went through. Dallas would end up with a lineup of:

This is my final trade to close out the roster. We need a shooter off the bench, a reduction in roster, and a SF:

Laettner and TAW for Van Horn

Good flexibility for injuries and during game. This is a balanced roster and I didn't come up with some off-the-wall trade that will never happen. Mostly good defensive players, too.

By the way, I went back and edited my original post when Drobnjak got traded to Atlanta. Erica wrote back before I found out.

If Stef will be playing in Russia, then the Mavs just might be getting Mr. Eschmeyer out of GS for the Delk trade exception and not give up a 1st rounder.

It's down to do or die time folks since Stef is gone to Russia (That beats him being in the NBA someplace else). Either the Mavs give up Howard to finish off a big trade or they make trades all summer without losing a young guy. I'll take Esch and somebody else's garbage to save Howard and 1st rounders. I expect a 1st rounder if not 2 picks for Stackhouse.

You can't combine TE's with players. As for Van Horn, he doesn't play defense and is soft been there done that.

I would hope we could maybe trade for Marion. Perhaps Bradley, Howard and Stackhouse for Marion.
