Default Luis Scola to Mavericks?

How difficult would it be to acquire the Argentinean player Luis Scola from the Spurs?

This guy is a Najera-type player. He has energy and heart and can also play pretty darn good. Any thoughts?

It would be nice to have him but dealing with the Spurs is like dealing with the Devil, you try to avoid it if at all possible.

Conference rivals will never deal with you unless they know they are getting better and making you worse. They would ask too much for anything.

First, I apologize for posting under the wrong folder.

Secondly, I understand about trading with a Conference rival and I did think about that. My thoughts were since Luis Scola is not a current member of the Spur team, that the Mavs could work a deal for him. This came to mind since Dallas has traded with the Rockets before.

But it will be interesting to see if other Argentinean players get picked up. I believe Nocioni has already signed with the Bulls.

Thanks to everyone for your responses.

I too love Scola. However, we cant run a deal with him. SA owns his draft rights. This was not the case with Noccioni. He was never drafted, ergo the Chicago could sign him no strings attached. Not the case with Scola. Scola has flaws though. He is too slow to play the SF, too undersized to play PF. But his O game is superior to Najera's.
