Who should stay? Who should go? Should Charlie be one of them?

Nelson / Felton / Mekel
Ellis / Harris / Ledo
Parsons / Jefferson / Crowder
Dirk / Aminu / Charlie
Tyson / Wright / Smith
Those are my 15 with Charlie V included. I was trying to find a way to leave Mekel off but I think I trust him slightly more than Yuki Togashi.

I voted Mekel ... But James would be fine too .
Mekel no need for a 4th PG probably even 5th considering Ellis can also play spot minutes at PG
James there is some need for a 4th Center with injury concerns to the other 3 . But just like Mekel I suspect Charlie V would actually be the backup stretch 4 and 4th Center ahead of James

I voted for Mekel. I think he has a much higher ceiling than Sarge, but in terms of roster composition, I would want to make sure that there's no scenario in which we have to rely on CV at center. I would much rather have Sarge around in case two of Chandler/Wright/Smith are out, so we at least have some sort of contingency plan that involves a guy who can hit somebody and rebound.
And I will say, too, that I'm softening on the idea of CV joining the squad but I think he needs to be a very specifically situational player. Not a primary backup of even third-string PF (Dirk/Aminu/Wright, with the primary backup rotating according to the opponent) if everyone is healthy. More of a guy who suits up when the opponent dictates or if the 13 or so guys ahead of him have any sort of injury. And even then he just isn't a guy I'm very confident seeing playing a big role based on his production and effort over the past 5-6 years. I'm sure that if/when he makes the team (and I'm fully convinced that he will), Rick is going to coax every last bit of productivity out of him, but I really hope that he isn't a guy the Mavs keep around because they feel like he should be Dirk's backup and playing like 15 minutes per game.

Other-Bruce Bowen. There's no downside.
Oh wait, you mean cut from the roster. My bad.

I'd like to see a trade (or 2) to clear a roster spot for CV and the person we trade for.
Would still like to go after Mihinmi or Withey as Chandler's primary backup.
Wright is fine in a lot of situations but we are completely screwed if Chandler goes down for any length of time which is more of a probability than a possibility imo.

I'd rather claim Quincy Acy off of waivers then add CV. Voted - None and I'm not at all enamored with Mekel and James on the roster.
I know it easy to rag on Wright for his deficiencies but he is really good at what he does on offense in the paint. He is a big time asset off the bench. I do agree that we don't want him playing 30 minutes a game at center if Tyson goes down. The insurance center that I'd like to get is Ajinca but I don't see NO moving him nor do I see the Pacers moving Ian Mahimhi. That Faverini guy in Boston is out until december sometime and is solid rebounder and shot blocker. He is probably available via trade.

Acy is still on the Knicks. In fact, he's probably going to be their starting PF.

Doesn't matter now but I meant Quincy Miller whom the Nuggets cut last week. I just keep getting the Quincy's mixed up. I probably confused Miller with Quincy Poindexter who is the Griz starting Sf.
