Reeves wrote a bullshit article. The job was indeed a position in the athletic (not basketball) department. He could have kept his salary. Raises are pretty much given at the same rate for the president down to the least senior person (didn't want to say janitor) on a percentage basis.

Reeves owes the world an apology and a retraction. F'ing idiot.

MFFL- do you think that incoming coaches should be able to hire their own assistants? It is the norm in the NCAA for outgoing coaches to reach out to other programs on their current assistants behalf for jobs. At every single school out there with an extroirdinarily few exceptions, the incoming guy gets to hire his own assitants. Rouse was given a very fair deal. I'm curious why you feel his being shafted.

I find it interesting that whistle blowers ALWAYS lose their jobs. >Maybe< this situation is different but I doubt it.

I certainly agree that whistle blowers always seem to lose their job and I understand the point, but Baylor has been trying REALLY hard t odo the right things and this was just unfair. I know he received an offer at no loss in pay. Certainly it could have been a position that was not as appealing, but the new coach should get to choose his assistants.
