Default Dallas Stars Free Fan Event - Thursday 4-8pm

For Immediate Release - August 30, 2005

DALLAS STARS ICE BREAKER IS COMING

FRISCO, Tex. -- The Dallas Stars will be holding a free fan event this Thursday, Sept. 1 from 4-8 p.m. at American Airlines Center entitled the Dallas Stars Ice Breaker. The event is being presented by Fieldstone Mortgage, Sports Radio 1310 The Ticket, 93.3 The Bone, 99.5 The Wolf, Yamaha of Texas and Noritz.

Fans will get their first look at seats available for many different Stars ticket packages, including full season, half-season, and 12, 8 and 4-game plans. Relocation of current season ticket holders ends on August 31 and many great seats will open up for the first time.

Admission to the Dallas Stars Ice Breaker is completely free, including free parking. Most of the Dallas Stars players will be signing autographs and be available for pictures on the main concourse of the arena from 5 - 7:30 p.m. Fans are encouraged to bring their camera.

Stars players scheduled to attend the Dallas Stars Ice Breaker include: Jason Arnott, Stu Barnes, Philippe Boucher, Garrett Burnett, Trevor Daley, John Erskine, Bill Guerin, Johan Hedberg, Jon Klemm, Jere Lehtinen, Mike Modano, Brenden Morrow, Steve Ott, Marty Turco and Sergei Zubov.

"We're looking forward to the Dallas Stars Ice Breaker. Fans will have the chance to meet the players and get a few autographs, while also getting the opportunity to see some of the great seats available for Dallas Stars games," said Stars President Jim Lites. "We've lowered prices on every seat in the building and there is no better time to become a Dallas Stars Season Seat Holder. Whether you are interested in a full season plan or something as simple as a four-game plan, the Dallas Stars Ice Breaker is a great opportunity to see the best selection of seats. It should be a fun evening."

Dallas Stars Ice Girls will also be available for autographs and photos. The first 3,000 fans will get free Ben & Jerry's ice cream. Balloon animal artists, face painters and some fun surprises also await those who attend the event. The Stars are planning a family-friendly atmosphere to help kick off the Labor Day holiday weekend.

Those attending can watch the North American Hockey League's Texas Tornado play a pre-season game against the Wichita Falls Wildcats from 6-8 p.m. on the American Airlines Center ice. There will also be free tours of the Stars locker room.

Fans can register to win several great prizes, including Stars tickets (4, 8 or 12-game plans + individual games), dinner in the Platinum Club on a game night, preferred parking, and autographed merchandise, among others.

Sports Radio 1310 The Ticket and 93.3 The Bone will each be broadcasting live from Dallas Stars Ice Breaker, with each station also giving away Stars tickets over the air to their listeners.

Media planning on attending the event are asked to please contact the Dallas Stars Communications office so we can best take care of your needs. Players will be available for TV live shots.

Default RE: Dallas Stars Free Fan Event - Thursday 4-8pm

The same Ben (from Ben and Jerrys) who is personally financing the Camp Casey fiasco? I'm guessing the flavors will be Liberal Constitutional Crunch or French Appeasement Apple Surprise or somesuch. No thanks.

Sounds like the Stars are working to try to get the fans back though.

Good luck Smiles.
