Default Dallas Cowboys 2012

The Super Bowl winners have been 8-0 in the mid-week season opener since they started doing it... Until tonight.

How 'bout them 'Boys?

If Corey Webster is the Giants' best corner...I'm feeling much, much better about the division. Outside of their front four, they didn't show much on defense.

I wish I could talk trash about the Cowboys. But I can't. Cuz I'm a Dolphins phan.

The Cowboys have a lot going for them right now, but they really need to cut down on the penalties - especially the false starts... I think Tyron Smith had three himself (Ghost of Flozell Adams!)

At least Flozell Adams had the excuse of being deaf in his right ear...

JPP owned him for a good portion of the night, so you'll have to see if he was just panicking due to that or it's a bad trend.

It might not be in terms of performance, but he got in Smith's head and brought back shades of Flozell, like UD mentioned.

It's a good win, but they can't afford to take a step back in 10 days in a tough environment.

It was probably a combination of having a new center..group of linemen that hadn't played together ..and going up against an extremely talented Giants front.

True, but it all goes back to what I really wanted to see going into the game: penalties in that format. The pre-snap penalties over the last few years have been mind numbing and the ones after are usually poorly timed. It almost felt like that was going to happen last night, but they were able to overcome that. It's definitely something to continue to monitor going forward.

How bout Martellus Bennet? He looked pretty good. It's a shame (not really) that Dallas has Witten and had to cut Bennet. I'm not sure why they drafted him in the first place to be honest.

They drafted him because the Cowboys use alot of 2 tight end sets.. They need 2 and sometimes 3 tight ends on a pretty regular basis. If Marty B. would have shown anything at all while in Dallas, he would still be here and they'd run even more 2 tight end sets. He wasn't held back by Witten. He was held back because he's incredibly immature.

He was a really good pass-blocker when he was here. He was not much of a receiver or route-runner. May God bless him in his new role. He will need it.

My first test on Sunday as a resident of Seattle. Should I watch the game at home or go have some fun somewhere?

Yeah, I would have killed for a Cowboys @ Seahawks game when I was living up there. Wasn't in the scheduling cards.

Unless you just can't swing it funds-wise (understandable if so), you should be going to CenturyLink on Sunday. It is an absolute blast.

Do people actually still enjoy the process (including paying for it) of going to games? It just feels like the TV product really makes going to games kind of meh.

Especially at Cowboys Stadium, where you pay an assload of money to do nothing more than watch a big TV unless you have excellent seats... I'd rather drink way better beer for a fraction of the price, not sit in traffic and be able to control the pace of the game on my DVR.

Cheapest ticket on StubHub is $100 before taxes and fees. Don't think I can manage that. I am going to at least one of the Rangers-Mariners games next weekend, though. My bus pass will have kicked in (that happens Monday... until then, I have no cash/change denominations to get me anywhere) and tickets will be dirt cheap.

I have found "the" local Cowboys bar, though, which is only 5-10 minutes away from my apartment. I can watch this game at home, but after that I'm mostly gonna have to find other ways. Damn NFL Sunday Ticket for being so expensive. I wish there were a cheaper option to only be able to see one team's games.

This was the worst game in terms of sloppyness/poor play that I've seen in a long time. Neither team deserved to win. Dallas is fast becoming the Cleveland Browns of the early otts.

Ass...whipped. The Buccaneers never had a chance. It may have looked ugly, but that's because we were busy kicking their asses all over the field.

Did you even watch the game? There were two Dallas turn overs that should have been returned for a TD if the refs hadn't whistled them dead.

We sure didn't whip any ass, but our defense was pretty damn stout.

And how about that ref killing a possible Cowboys TD by throwing his hat under Ogletree's feet? Why did he throw his hat anyway? Nobody stepped out of bounds... These replacement refs suck a bag of dicks (and the Cowboys-Bucs game was far from being the worst-officiated yesterday).

It's getting pretty damn hard to prove the Romo haters wrong...

Damn they stunk last night.

Baltimore is going to kill them. This team has no fight, no discipline, no heart, no imposing of will.

Head coach needs to instill fear, not acceptance. Landry looked cool on the sidelines but everyone was afraid of him (at least from what I have heard). No one is in fear of JG.

Fear Parcells, maybe. Fear Johnson, sure. The rest have been a bag of meh.

But they have history and entitlement! That should count for half of it!

Every season they come out with a "this year's different" "we're pissed" mentality" every season the media falls for it and every season we get the same result.

Not really. It was a bad game. Two interceptions went through receivers hands.. another was due to Bryant not knowing what to do. One was forced when he was being hit..might have been a fumble, might have been a pick. Regardless, it was a bad decision.

It wasn't pretty by any stretch, but it wasn't nearly as bad as the numbers indicate.
