My fav country singer was Juice Newton,
I once bought her greatest hits album,
and I liked her "Queen of Hearts" and "Angel of the Morning".
anyway Shaggy used the song "Angel of the Morning" in his recent album,
His title is just "Angel",
but I tell you, Her Angel version is much better than his.
Hey, Shaggy leave that song alone,
just keep saying "BoomBastick" or "It wasn't me" !!!

Is John Denver a country singer ?
I like his "THANK GOD, I'M A COUNTRY BOY",
and "Take Me Home Country Roads".
but I'm not sure if he's a country singer or not.
Oh wait I like his "Perhaps Love" and "Sunshine On My Shoulders", too.
"Rocky Mountain High" is not that bad ...
I also like Randy Travis' "Forever & Ever, Amen".
and Trisha Yearwood's "How do I live", I visited her official website,
looks great, and She looks great, TOO ...

Yeah, John Denver is/was a country singer. He died in a plane crash a few year ago though.
Randy Travis is pretty good too. My current favorite is Charlie Robinson.

Never heard of her ? How come ?
Yeah, she's an old lady, I used to like mature women
when I was a kid,
I once fell in love with about 40 years old woman
when I was just 6 or 7 years old ...
I guess I was mentally ill at that time ...
fell in love with a woman 30 years older than me ...
but Juice Newton was cute in her "Queen of Hearts" vid clip ...

yeah it was sad I can't hear John's voice any more ...
but I'm afraid Charlie Robinson doesn't ring any bell to me ...

I think the baseline for Shaggy's "Angel" was pulled from "Joker", an old Steve Miller song. You know, the one that goes "I really love your peaches want to shake your tree".

no, it's definitely "Angel of the morning."
the pretenders did a remake of it a coupe of years ago.
"just call me angel of the morning, baby... just (somethin'-somethin') before you go..."
first time i heard the shaggy song, i thought it was one of those joke songs making fun of the original. i mean, c'mon, "closer than my peeps you are to me?" hilarious!

I'm not denying that. Shaggy ripped off both songs. He took the baseline from "Joker" and played it underneath the chorus from "Angel in the morning". Check it out.
Its kinda like that Puff Daddy song "I've been around the world (and I've been playa hatin)". It has the baseline from David Bowie's "Lets dance" and the chorus of "Been around the world".

Ah man, Steve Miller Band is awesome. Back in high school, that was all I listened to.
Btw, downloaded a few songs from Juice Newton, and well, she sucks.

Did you know Steve Miller grew up right here in big D? Rumor has it that he got kicked out of St.Marks for selling weed.

The reason I post this message is
I found her album in my junk box recently,
and I know Shaggy used one of her song,
Rednex also used the country song "Cotton Eye Joe" in 1995,
and Mixman Studio 4 software has several country music samples with it ...
These guys are hiphop or techno musicians ...
We all know that djbacklash is a hiphop/techno junkie,
but he said he NEVER mixed or spun country music ...
so I wanted to tell something to dj,
that is country music is worth giving a try ...

Rob, she sucks ? which songs did you downloaded ?
"Love's been a little bit hard on me", "Heart of the night",
"The sweetest thing (I've ever known)" ... they're all great ...
I like "Time keep slip'n", "Jungle love" and "Abracadabra" by Steve ...
anyway is Chris Isaak a country singer ? I like his music very much,
his "Chris Isaak" ablum is really great ...

I really don't think Chris Isaak's stuff is considered country.

then which genre does he belong to ?
sometimes he sings like a country singer,
I guess he's somewhere between country and early rock'n'roll ...
a poor man's Elvis ?

How about Lobo (Me And You And A Dog Named Boo)
or Randy Vanwarmer(Just When I Needed You Most) ?
I think Ricky Nelson became later more like a country musician,
y'know, "Lonesome Town", "Travelin' Man" and "Fools Rush In" ...
I like his early songs such as "I'm Walking" ...
"I'm walking, yes indeed I'm talking
For you and me and I'm hoping
That you'll come back to me ..."
Isn't his dad a country musician ?

Sorry can't say I like any of those songs. Frankly, I've never heard of those people either.

"he once was as popular as Elvis...
. How come I've never heard of him? He does kinda(but not really) look and sing like Elvis though.
Anyway, you wanna talk about country singers named Nelson. How 'bout Willie? Now THAT'S good country music.

The Half Nelson cd is a great cd. It's actually the middle disk of the Willie Nelson box set I have. Great music.

Shania ain't country. She's a Country wannabe pop singer.
Besides, Faith Hill's better looking.
