Default 9-3: Dirk goes for his # as Mavs beat Spurs

dirk. 11 in overtime, 41/12 in the game plus shut down defense on Timmy in OT. 4th game in 6 nights, 2nd straight overtime, and the Mavs ride their horse in the 2nd half and OT to pull it out with an OT lineup of Barea-Terry-Kidd-Dirk-Hump. Good win. Go mavs!

As I said the offensive combo of Dirk and Jet, their 2 man game has to be one of the most dangerous in the NBA rite now and the last 5 years. Good win, the team is doing great,

Great floor game from Barea, and tremendous defense forcing three huge turnovers in the 4th and OT, drilling a couple of big jumpers, and doing a good job finding Dirk. Big shot and free throws down the stretch from JET. Excellent job pulling this one out, Mavs.

I really would've enjoyed seeing Roddy B vs Tony Parker and compare. Oh well.

So Dirk is now 31-31 in Q4 and OT free throws this season. And there was that tip in on the Terry miss at the end of regulation, and the huge dagger 3 in OT, of course... that's something special.

ok.... I have to do it... DIRKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!

Am I the only one who gets mad? When you see Humpries and JET (having a bad game today) and Barea launching up shots/dunk attempts in the OT period when Dirk is the only reason we are in the game? Seriously, let Dirk ride his hot streak. He is becoming one of the best closers in the game.

His Tip in and his 3 pointer was HUGE!

... Now that I am done rambling.... I am naming my son Dirk!

Dirk is the man...unstoppable.

Good game by Gooden, JJB and the Hump man.

And for all those Rich Jefferson lovers, what you see is what you get.

Well I think one thing that we can all take away from this game is that Richard Jefferson has really tiny ears.

Gooden played really nice defense on TD early on and Dirk played amazing D on TD in OT.

I was a bit miffed why Hump was on TD on the last posession in the 4th, that was too easy.

Jet was like 5-18, he was really poor tonight, but he hit a big one in OT and had some key steals. He plays the passing lanes nicely.

Kidd was very good on D and had some nice passes. He couldn't hit a shot though.

JJB was again a liability on defense, Hill was using him at times. Though he did have a nice charge call, and he was actually quite solid in OT, I'll give him that. But it's absolute momentum killing plays that he makes which kill me, like when he jacked up that horrible three late in the 4th. Dirk wanted it on the post, JJB didn't give it to him, swung it to Kidd, and ending up back with the ball, doesn't give it to Dirk again and forces a 28 foot three. Overall though, he was much better than he's been lately.

Gooden played nice D on TD, rebounded well, and had some very nice offensive moves.

TT looked rusty, but not too bad. He had a nice tip in.

Hump gets lost on D a lot, but I like his hustle and rebounding.

Ross was good on D, but he is pretty lost on O.

Oh yeah, and that German guy is fairly clutch too.

Great game by Dirk. He was on fire in the second half and OT.

Kidd's defense was huge. His post defense and ball denial against Jefferson was key
in restricting the Spurs.

Barea was huge too. The +/- numbers for him and Beaubois were reversed today.

That rebound JJB grabbed when Duncan bricked halfway through OT was huge - Dirk scored that dagger three on the next play...

GHill is a good basketball player that only made 15 points on 15 attempts, to blame JJB for all the shortcomings of the Mavs is just lunacy, JJB played a great game drawing fouls, making crucial shots when it counts. RC is the coach of this team and he feels quite comfortable playing JJB when the Mavs are missing their SG and SF.

Very pleased with how the Mavs have played thus far... 9-3, basically 10-2... Dirk has been brilliant.

And yet you feel this team has a lot of room for improvement. I still see lots of inconsistency and of course injuries have been a concern with starters missing 13 combined games already.

I don't know what's going on with Dirk because I never seen him show this much emotion and love for the game, Gooden get's alot of props from me for not backing down in the paint, I was on the edge of my seat the entire game but I'm happy the good guys won.

Dirk can guard Duncan a bit.. Duncan could never guard Dirk at any point in his career.. well, maybe Dirk's rookie year. Also, Dirk was always better at guarding KG than KG was at guarding Dirk. I suppose that's an unfair comparison considering how much better of an offensive player Dirk is than KG has ever been at any point in his career.

They didn't say anything because they where to busy talking about Lebron and how would he do if he played in the NFL, I changed the channel after that because I couldn't take the Lebron love from ESPN anymore.

The only JJB anal stuffing going on is between you and him big guy.

I said JJB had a solid game overall. Personally, I prefer if players have good games more than 10% of the time. That's just me though. It's pretty sad that when JJB has a decent game you herald him like he's Lebron.
