My wife wanted to record The Terminator show, How I met your Mother, Chuck (even though we were watching it) and I wanted to flip back and forth from MNF.
Needless to say, there were DVR issues.

Please do so, Flaco. Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chronicles is an on-demand/tivo/dvr champ, but this season and last, the broadcast ratings have been sub-par, so Fox is wavering about renewing the excellent show past the 13 episodes already ordered for '08.
That said, the networks are really starting to pay attention to On-Demand/DVR usage stats, so if folks season-pass or record individual episodes of good, sci-fi niche shows like T:SCC, it really does up the odds that those kinds of shows will be able to stay on the air, even if they don't garner Lost-caliber broadcast ratings...

Oh ok. I'm the exact opposite. I don't watch anything live...can't stand commercial breaks. It's why I almost never post in game day threads.

Amen. Commercials make my head want to explode. The ability to fast-forward them after recording is a godsend.

Oh, don't misunderstand, I don't watch anything live either. But I still tend to watch the shows on the night I record them, or like to anyway. And last night there so much tv that the wife and I usually watch that I was ready to go to sleep before we finished watching it all.

Dirno, i agree - I rarely watch a show the same night it's on... Watched Heroes last night, but that's an exception... I try to watch LOST the same night as well.
Anyway, this season i will have some conflicts where even a dual tuner won't help (mainly Mondays and Thursdays). So thank goodness i have two TiVo HDs. Allows me to record up to 4 shows at the same time, and i can transfer shows between my bedroom and Living Room and watch them where i want.

Chuck was really, really good. It's one of the few shows that hasn't disappointed. It's almost always at a high level.

I liked that they broke their formula already this week. There was no "fringy" mystery for which they had to use an even more "fringy" science to figure out the mystery.
And that bald dude was cool.

Chuck was definitely enjoyable. Like you guys said - it's not very funny, it's not great action or drama. But it's a very good mix of comedy, action, and a little drama. How dumb is the CIA though? They didn't think to double-check a crucial item that had been in enemy hands?
So far, my new favorite show is "the mentalist". Horrible title, but the pilot was VERY good (which is rare these days) and Simon Baker is VERY good and very smooth. I was wary of the show cause it sounded like it was a rip-off of Psych, except without the comedy. But it's its own show. Again, very good.

Just got done watching the newest episode of Mad Men last night on demand.
That is a very well-written show and the characters have a ton of depth. It's almost eerily well-written in today's copy and remake everything society.

My wife asked me about when LOST starts last night...and I told her early 09...and her two word response was, "Stupid LOST!"

It was never cancelled. It is in it's last season. 10 episodes left. The reason it's in it's final season? Because the creators didn't want to just milk the public year after year. They had a story to tell and they are ending it properly without adding new bits to the story that draw it in different directions. Lost is doing the same thing.
They didn't want to become an ER.

I should be watching the Office right now.
I am not watching The Office right now.
So I hope the 4 people in America that haven't made up their minds yet get something out of all of that non-event tonight, because...I should be watching The Office right now.

I've finally started watching Season 5 of The Wire. Its awesome as always. The character development is really amazing and unlike most other shows, there's not a single storyline that I don't enjoy.

Chuck was good again this week. I think they played the whole Chuck liking the blonde thing a bit too soon. Yeah, it actually works, but at some point, the viewer will get tired of Chuck getting jerked around. I know I was ready for him to get what was coming his way only to see something come up again..and again.

So in no particular order and thanks to both of my DVR's I get to watch a ton of TV.
24
Psyche
Monk
Chuck
CSI
CSI Miami
Bones
the Cleaner
the Mentalist
Two and Half Men
Everybody Loves Raymond
Home Improvement
MASH
Fox News Channel - sometimes the other networks, just to hear the smearing from the left
Life
the Dresden Files
X-Files
Jericho - I wish it was still on
We used to watch Crossing Jordan - I kinda miss that show
Numbers
House
I've probably got a few more...as I think of them, I'll add them...then there is the sports programming (Stars, Cowboys) - Soccer - on occasion a Ranger game...sometimes a Mavs game, I usually wait until post-season, if they have a shot.
My favorite is Stars in HD!!! That and HD Cowboys are freakin awesome to watch!!!
That makes me wonder...if message boards where a TV show, which show would they be?

I don't post on the Mavs section...simply I get to be too bitter...but I have posted for the Mavs on other boards for years....back in the Yahoo days.
I was constantly on the Lakers board and actually got some good props from Laker fans for sticking to good basketball talk, all the while hating on their Lakers.
Honestly the Heat series knocked me down...and then the collapse to Golden State nearly killed me.
Saddly I'm one of those who believes the Mavs will never contend let alone win a title as long as Mark Cuban and David Stern are both involved in the NBA. When one or the other is gone, I will re-evaluate...watching one game at a time and truly assessing how the officiating goes.
Until then, the NBA is nothing more that the WWF of team sports and I will treat it as such.
Otherwise, I live and die by the Mavs...I just don't believe that the league is built to be fair anymore, thus I have little incentive to watch.
I still enjoy the boards, the chats etc...just down on the NBA in general. It's slipped down there to baseball in my book...I'll watch if there is nothing else on. I'ld rather watch NFL, NHL or Soccer before I watch an NBA soap opera.

i understand the idea of posting in the lounge, political forum, etc. - because i post in the other forums more than I do the Mavs forum, that's just the nature of the beast, especially in the offseason. What I can't understand is why someone would sign up at a site called WWW.DALLAS-MAVS.COM in the first place, if said person admits he only jumps on in the postseason, and only "if they have a shot" at that.
How's the weather where you are? Fair?
