They?re not. Jesus.

The original quote was that they?d rebuffed some trades involving Josh and that it showed that they valued him. Those trades weren?t specified but very well could be the Ayton/Capela trades.

Kyrie thinks Kuminga has all star potential. Would be happy if we got him.

Kuminga on the other hand has voiced exasperation at Kerr and has basically said that he doesn?t think he has a future in Golden State

I still think he goes to the warriors for Siakam but I wouldn?t mind kicking the tires on Kuminga for the right price. I?m more motivated to do it after hearing Kyrie comments

I'm lukewarm with Kuminga. I like the upside, but we already have young upside guys.

We. Need. Rebounding.

Kuminga is a much better rebounder. Averaging 20-7 vs Williams? 11-5 per 36. He?s still short for a PF at 6?7? but still taller than GWill.

But yeah, I?m not sure how we?d get him and I?m still convinced he?ll end the season either in Toronto or SF

I was commenting about Kuminga last year in March. I havent heard what Kai said about him, but hes a good athletic 2 way player. Its not even a close comparison between Gw and J kuminga

Looks like Toronto may be running out of suitors. This does fall in line with the "reports" that the Mavs won't trade Josh Green.

https://twitter.com/esidery/status/1743858896907714846

Reality is teams won't give up a ton of a assets when he'll be a FA this summer. Musai overplayed his hand.

Cant someone work a SnT for him if they have the space?

If they don't have space? Depends on if the team is hard capped or not right?

I just think the reality is teams aren't giving up young, talented prospects on good contracts anymore. Not unless it's for a megastar or someone like Markannen.

I mean, we're seeing teams get who they want if it takes them to next level. I dont think the fact that Siakam wants max monies and is FA soon will be an issue if someone sees him as the step to contend. Idk if GS is Siakam away from contending. They may be considering next era soon and Siakam doesnt fit that, regardless if Kumknga is a part of that picture. I would have though JK would be a bigger part of the picture by now.

I think Toronto revealed their hand when Sacramento, who has a decent amount of assets, backed out so quickly. Musai thinks he is going to get a big pot for Siakam, but I just don't think that is going to happen. Deadlines make deals, but what Brooklyn got for Kyrie is what you're realistically looking at.

As others have said, I think Yurtseven, Stewart, or Plumlee would be huge additions.

We need a big that can grab rebounds. I just hope it happens sooner than later before Lively hurts himself for real.

Even though we won last night, I hope Kidd, Cuban, and Adelson all saw how pathetically small we were.

Gobert had something like 16 rebounds in the half and we were throwing 3-4 guys at him and he was still getting the boards.

It was honestly a miracle to walk out of there only -8 on the boards.

Well at least Kidd is utilizing the small lineups to do something on defense.

And you gotta use the players you have, but he refuses to play Holmes for unknown reasons.

I'm concerned they'll view it in the opposite way.
They'll think they have a better chance to win with a smaller lineup and will do nothing by the deadline.

The Pascal trade with Sacramento apparently fell through because he wouldn't commit to staying with the team past the summer.

Hmm wonder if he already know where he wants to go? Probably Miami. Everyone wants to go to Miami.

What about Biyombo?

Cheap contract. Expiring. Grizz are NOT going anywhere this season and he may leave this summer.

Probably can?t play PF because of spacing but can be a backup C who can defend and rebound.

How can he commit, if there is no offer sheet of an extension.

I like Biyombo but figure he'd become too well acquainted with Holmes at the end of the bench.

I'm wondering if we could deal with Bulls in a trade that involves Patrick William's and Drummond.

Would Hardy/Maxi for Williams/Drummond have any chance?

It's just not a great market for our needs this year. I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't make a move.

But if they did get someone like Siakam, then we would be a top 4 team if not the best.

Luka/Kyrie/DJJ/Siakam/Lively...you'd be nuts not to try and get that done if you can.

I think it's a great market. Lots of crazy good talent being shopped that meet our needs (Stewart, Siakam, Kuzma, etc.)

The only problem is the asking price for bigs has seen some crazy inflation and we just don't have the assets for some of the deals and the others would empty our bank account. With only the assets for one semi-major deal, we have to make the next deal count.

Idk how much I trust Kuzma's personality. Feel like he would want to take over at times we need Kyrie and Luka to take over. He thinks he's a 1a...depends on his committment I guess.

I truly just want a pf/center that can get some rebounds and Lively some rest.

If he's telling Kings hes not interested in signing an offer in the summer, teams would be nuts to get a rental and risk him walking.

Totally agree, but do you want to win a ring this year? It's certainly worth the debate. You're going to have to sacrifice assets for that chance now.

But seeing as it seems like GS and Dallas are the only real suitors right now, welp, stranger things have happened.

As Josh Bowe mentioned on twitter/x, Dallas is a much better basketball situation for him. (And city if we're being honest with regards to family and safety).

-big contract (4/90, but it goes down from 25this year to 19 in year 4)

Probably means: THJ/Holmes/youth, or Holmes/Kleber/Green
Kuzma woukd be a fine option. We would be a lot more versatile at 3/4 with DJJ and Kuzma. Instead of relying on Grant and insert whoever.. Omax, Lawson. The problem I personally have is that it doesnt completely eliminate the need for DP.

As Josh Bowe mentioned on twitter/x, Dallas is a much better basketball situation for him. (And city if we're being honest with regards to family and safety).
Ha! Honesty.

Like when we told McGee he was our starter.

Do I want to leverage the last assets we have for 6 months rental? Not really. Its not like Kawhi is coming in to put us over the top. Siakam doesnt guarantee anything for these playoffs.

Maybe if they were a 2-3 seed and needed that little extra push. This team is still very much in the finishing stages of a rebuild after being the 11 seed.

I don't think it will cost us the last assets we have anymore. Doubt he reups with Indiana or Atlanta. It's gonna be THJ/Holmes/Green and a first from their end. But with Dallas holding onto Green and GS Kuminga, then I'm not sure it will be that either. The Sacramento trade was for mainly Barnes and draft picks.

THJ/Holmes/Prosper and a first I think gets it done if GS holds firm. You definitely have to consider that.

BTW Kuzma cannot be traded until January 15th

They can announce, but would be stupid to before that. Otherwise it will be at least next week.

Kuzma's price will be too steep since he is just signed that contract this past summer. Kings nearly got him and will have the best package for him.

Shams says we are looking primarily at a starting-caliber PF

I was annoyed when I heard it but honestly it?s the right call.

Kyrie/Exum/Luka/Siakam/Lively could cause playoff troubles. We depend on Lively but honestly not sure there?s a guy out there where we?d be fine if Lively was injured and not sure out last move should be a backup 5

Well Siakam can play some small ball 5 which he almost assuredly will. We all know it's not the perfect move, but we would only dream of it last season. Now I actually believe the FO can pull it off if they wanted to.

Apparently, Mavs are betting favorites to land him.

This if course means we'll end up with Isaiah Stewart.

A few ppl hurt my feelings saying we needed starting center instead, and said I was stupid for not wanting to give up the farm for Capela as they shoved me down in the hall, took my glasses and laughed at me.

Not sure I saw that tbh curious why would you prefer a starting center instead of a starting PF? To me, the move is the latter with a backup C and/or defensive wing to boot. Not sure a wing will be available, so to the bigs it is. Hope Green and Williams figure it out and continue to rock DJJ across the board.
