And yeah, the deal looks even worse when you tack on an extra $1.5-2M per....

That's right, I forgot about that. It may have been put in by Memphis go dissuade Atlanta from matching..

Stack/Bass(S&T)/Cash to Atlanta Hawks for Josh Smith? Trade Josh Howard and Cash to Philadelphia for Andre Iguodala? Trade Damp/Wright/Carroll/Cash to Phoenix Suns for Shaq? Re-sign Kidd? Use full MLE on Shawn Marion? Dirk as maybe the 2nd or 3rd scoring option possibly gives the Dallas Mavericks a better chance at winning the championship (Orlando got to the finals with 1st Scorer Dwight Howard, 2nd Scorer Rashard Lewis, and 3rd scorer Hedo Turkoglu). The Mavericks will thus have 1st scorer in Shaq, 2nd scorer in Andre Iguodala, and 3rd scorer in Dirk Nowitzki. If you want Kidd to stay and Dirk not leave this franchise because he's tired of losing after next season, make this happen Cuban and Donnie. It's time to right this ship.

Roster:

Kidd?/Andre Iguodala?/Josh Smith?/Dirk/Shaq?
Barea/Jet/Singleton/Shawn Marion?/Hollins
Shan Foster/(Ty Lawson?/Johnny Flynn?/Eric Maynor?/Patrick Mills?/Rodrigue Beaubois?)

(Bring back Reyshawn Terry?)/(Buy a 2nd Rd Pick and possibly get Syracuse Paul Harris?)/SWilliams

Not that much of this post makes a lot of sense to me but the part in bold gave me a headache a lil bit.

Dirk - 26.8 PPG
Shaq - 17.8 PPG
Iguodala - 21.5 PPG

Dirk will still get his points. It just means that other people need to be double teamed as well. With less attention on him at the offensive end it means better/easier shots from the drive in and dish out from AI or the post up and dish out from Shaq.

yes but why can't he still be the #1 option?? He can still be #1 and have shaq and iggy attract attention and take pressure off as the #2 and #3 options. No need to demote dirk in favor of two far less efficient offensive players.

Alright, I get your point. But in the 4th quarter of close games or close games in the playoffs, do you want your go to guy to jack up jump shots, or should your go to guy score in the paint or slash to the hole? You still win a lot of games, but it won't win you a championship.

Good point...

Dirk is still the #1 option...

It may not be ideal, but Dirk's midrange fall away is money damn near every time. I'd trust him to hit those shots. Dirk is good for 25 almost every night with pretty high efficiency, and if he had 2 other legit, consistent scorers to take some of the defense's attention off him? Well I think he'd be great as the #1 go to scorer.

With Philly trying to move Brand, I think Iguodala is definitely off the table. However, there is one guy on their roster from last year that we may have to take a look at. If Kidd does not re-sign with Dallas and bolts to greener pastures, we should definitely be interested in Andre Miller. I don't know what his market value is going to be this summer, but with the influx of young PG's coming into the league via draft--his stock may be hurting a little bit.

If Philly is just trying to dump Brand for $$$$ purposes, offer Damp straight up for him. It works on RealGm. They save serious $$$$.

Brand is your inside post guy and a pretty darn good shot blocker as well. Not ideal because of height, but neither was Moses Malone, but he was a player for sure.

Dang, if you could actually get this one done, trading for a Chandler, Sheed, Camby, Kaman etc or even a less C that just played awesome D would be enough because you could always have a scoring BIG on the court.
