Barea, anjinca, mahimi, cardinal some dude named Sasha playing big minutes.
Stevenson is what he is.
Terry and Haywood are useless.
Kidd, Chandler, & Marion can only do so much. It's not hard to see why this team is terrible right now. Wait they just played the pacers and were never in the game. Make that beyond terrible.

One would think that without Dirk in the lineup, that at least the defense would look better, but for some odd reason that's not true.

i guess i'm just glad they decided to go ahead and implode now instead of waiting until the playoffs started and getting my hopes up like they usually do.

Why would one think that? Dirk is an above average defender and the Mavs are a much better defensive team with him on the court.
Defense: Pts per 100 Poss.
101.4 On Court
106.7 Off Court
-5.3
One would be better served to know what they're talking about beore posting.

Sry, i just watched too many ugly games the last weeks. Every single game was horrible to watch.
I think i will skip the games until Dirk is back. Its just not worthy the time (specially late at night).

It's been more like 2 1/2 weeks.
I don't know about you, but I hate losing. Especially while the Spurs are having this bs miraculous season.

Most teams would look bad when 3 of their top 7 players are out. All you can do is hope to survive. The margin is razor thin for errors, they can't make mistakes basically.

I just hope that Cuban realize that with Butler gone its not "just" Dirk and Roddy missing...its more.
But it sucks that Philly and Charlotte will be in the playoff race at the deadline, even with 0.400 records

Mavs are doing the exact correct thing. If they rush dirk back and he's hobbled the rest of the year I'm not sure I'll ever forgive the MBT. The team is getting a pretty big dose of humble pie right now....
But they'd better not rush the dirkster back, they have to realize that seeding is absolutely meaningless without a healthy dirk.

Carlisle is pissed right now ... He does not wanna answer any Dirk questions
Dirk should be rested once he return, and hopefully Kidd can rest after the trade deadline has passed.

Yes, but it is just 1/82. But the team has got to figure out how to win even without Dirk. I admit that.

Roddy probably back in just 2-3 weeks leaves them with 2-3 weeks to evaluate and either trying a bigger trade or getting some minor SF bench upgrade.
Thats not really a nice window to evaluate and act....

I guess I can understand it and the timing is probably right IF roddy gets back before the end of january (but not sure he will).. I sjax is traded away to someone else in the meantime they will have chose poorly imo.
I also think they shouldn't have to wait until dirk/roddy gets back to know what they have...they should know now...it seems a little tentative and kinda scared imo.

That's their problem and they'll deal with it as best as they can. Either way, it won't be the final product with Roddy because it's going to take Roddy time to get his basketball legs under him. For a guy that moves as quickly as he does, he will get fatigued quickly...so it's going to be a process with him, even when he returns.

For me its quite clear now that the team lost their confidence, good spirits and optimism alongside Butler and Dirk. Dirk will come back at some point, but the injuries really spoiled this promising season and you might think that also the players still deal with this disapointment. It's easy to say to get over it and play on, but sometimes it is not that simple.
Maybe the return of Dirk will get some of these things back, but the games without him really backfired on the Mavs in terms of confidence. Actually I thought that a stretch without Dirk could even be helpful, because other players would step up and improve their own game without him, but it's quite the opposite.
I kind of asking myself if this chemistry thing is really worth caring about any longer in terms of possible trades. In my eyes the spirit of this team may be long gone, so why bother? But this is an opinion of someone who is obviously not by any means close to the team, so hopefully other people can estimate this a whole lot better and make the right decision.

Good, he should be pissed...This team seems to be just laying down while waiting for dirk to come and bail them out. Mavs let the pacers outscore their average after a back-to-back and they had 3 days off. the pacers seem to out-scrap them again.
It's one thing to not score enough points without dirk, and it's another to lose against the thunder/magic...But to come in and be manhandled by indiana...he should be pissed.

Hanging onto players (especially Caron) entirely because of "chemistry" is ridiculous, I hope for goodness sakes that's not actually going through their minds. In the seventh game of a playoff series, having caron on the sideline in a suit will not get them a single point.
