10 Day Contract Guys
Besides Joe Alexander, I don't know of anyone that they could sign. Is there any out there that you would like for them to sign that might could help?

Let's give Ian Mahimi some playing time and see what happens instead of hiring a stiff washout.

With Dominique Jones back with the Dallas Mavericks, Forward Joe Alexander is the top-rated prospect for the Texas Legends. Going in to Friday's game with the D-League affiliate in Frisco, Alexander, the first ever Taiwanese-born NBA player, has averaged 19.3 points, 11.1 rebounds and 3.3 assists in 43 minutes/game. The forward has been an effective shooter as he has shot 47.8% from the field over the season. In the NBADL, Alexander ranks 6th overall in scoring and 1st in rebounds. Over his previous three games before Friday's match-up, Alexander averaged 25.6 points, 14.3 rebounds and 3 assists in 45 minutes/game worth of action while shooting 48.2% from the field.
The former Mountaineer was the 8th overall pick of the 2008 NBA Draft by the Milwaukee Bucks. He spent time with the Bucks, Bulls and Hornets before making his second stint in the D-League with the Legends. The forward hasn't been able to find a situation that allows him to stick in the league.

Agreed. If he took some of Cardinal's minutes at the 4 in order not to disrupt our 5 rotation, I'd be fine with that. I know Cardinal's shooting ability is what gets him the minutes, but the Mavs complete lack of inside offense is one of the main problems with a Mavs sans Dirk team. Ian could help here. Carlisle's problem is that it would mess up "the system," but screw it man...give something new a try before The Diggler gets back to see what you have. It isn't like we're going to lose more games than we currently are.

I wouldn't be opposed to signing Novak to another 10-day. Can we do that? Did he clear waivers?

All indications seem like it's feasible for him to come back. It's a 48-hour window clear through waivers, Friday should have been the day for that to clear. It could be Monday though...we'll just have to wait and see.

I know everyone keeps saying that but... he doesn't really actually seem to hit any shots. So does he really have any shooting ability? Generally "shooting ability" means you make shots.
Brian Cardinal is 1-6 in his last three games... and he's playing somewhere around a ridiculous 18 minutes. Not only does he not take any shots but when he does he misses them. Oh and he doesn't rebound either. He's averaging around 1 a game. At least Mahimi would get a couple of rebounds. Why don't we see what he can do before we hire a washout? It just makes sense.

For that last five games, Cardinal has shot 5-17 from the field with all five makes from beyond the arc (5-13). The shooting isn't great but it isn't down in the dumps terrible...considering he was originally considered the #3 power forward. I can say that the rebounding does leave more to be desired but it's not on a lack of effort. He hustles and will be physical with defenders and make people pay if they try to finish at the basket.
They don't see Ian as a 4, they see Lex as a 4.
