Postgame: Mavs vs. Pacers: Serious RoddyWood
Great game
Highlight of the game the Roddy 1 vs 5 fastbreaks. He gets blocked and next possession he does it again and finish

How about that getting to the other side of the court in 3.5 seconds for ft's. No way he can keep up that intensity for heavy minutes but 12 minutes a game would be the perfect role for him.

Haywood's rebs, a Roddy sighting, Stevenson looking playable, and rest for the starters...anything else?

Stevenson looks like a better version of Ross. I know it's early but I'm liking what I'm seeing.

Jeez the Roddy stuff is too much.
Haywood gets the highlight reel all to himself! He was fantastic.
Good to see Stevenson playing team ball and sinking shots.
Although Roddy didn't blow me away, it was great to see less JJB.
Viva Najera.

How did JJB manage a -13 in this game.
Also Kidd is still the MVP

Hahahaha, I loved it----wish I could have saw RC's face. Roddy is such a freak of nature. RC needs to realize this and let him do what he do, while teaching him the basic...but let him develop into the special player he is and will be in the future. Go Roddy!

Kidd's offense has been incredible since the all-star break. His overall play has been too, but I'll be honest, I never expected Kidd to score over a stretch of games like he has been in the remainder of his career. I thought his offense was done, limited to open threes and the (very) occasional post up. But he's proving me wrong. He's been fantastic.

Makes you wonder what was up with him before the all-star break? Was he sending a message that we need a trade? Dallas looks set in with hopefully keeping this 9 man rotation for the playoffs.
Haywood/Dampier
Nowitzki/Marion
Marion/Stevenson/Butler
Butler/Terry/Stevenson
Kidd/Beaubois

He has been phenomenal since the All-Star break. He is very aggressive. He is pushing it in almost every possession.

I've also been very impressed with Kidd's energy and aggression. It's awesome.

Caron may not have had a great scoring night, but his impact on the game was very tangible. His defense was great. I love his hustle.

It's not surprise that he and Haywood had by far the best +/- ratings when with the Wizards this year. Those small things matter. He does take some bad shots though but that is my only complaint.

His passing continues to impress me as well. It's just such a breath of fresh air after so many years of getting virtually nothing in that department from Josh.

I agree. Caron is a great passer. What's more important is that he isn't a reluctant passer. He is very unselfish and more often than not plays within the flow of the game.

DAMN IT why do i have to keep working so late?!?!?!?
ANOTHER WIN WITH B-WOOD AT CENTER!
i thought i'd be the absolute last person on this board to say this, but i am really enjoying this trade more and more everyday. and it's only 5 games in! i'm extremely proud of how we seem to be meshing well, even though i thought that aspect would take much much longer, especially after seeing some of the first game after the all star break.
butler is going to continue to shoot, and his FG% will only go up. i have no problem with him shooting, considering nearly all shots are not forced or at least within the flow of the offense. if he is open, i want him to pull the trigger. and as far as stevenson, i was VERY happy to see he had some more time today. from the recap i read, i think he hit 2 trey's in the first half? thats good enough for me! any contribution would be welcomed.
and as for kidd, HOLY ISH! where did this sudden burst come from? i am really impressed. he can do it all with the BEST of em, and seems like he is only getting better as the season progresses. and dirk, well, is just dirk. there is no more praise i can give him that i haven't already. point blank, team would suck without him. well, not suck. but i don't think i ever need to give details on him to anyone on this board or anyone who knows ANYTHING about basketball for that matter.
anyway, FOUR GAMES AND COUNTIN...LET'S KEEP IT GOIN!!! +REP MY HOMIES AND HOMETTES!
GO MAVS!!!

Josh's lack of aptitude for passing, especially considering he played four years of college ball under a great coach, is just mind-boggling.

Speaking of which, remember when Avery tried to use him as point-forward for a few games in 2006? That was just weird.

I'd say that Avery's handling of Josh was the second-worst thing about Avery, right behind his insufferable pride and inability to admit any of his own shortcomings.

I think his inability to handle Josh PALED in comparison to his inability to handle Dirk.

Didn't watch the game...Weird scorecard...on the surface it looks like a blowout (given Kidd and Dirk's minutes) but the quarter-by-quarter progression and the final score don't really indicate that.

Four in a row! I wonder how long we'll keep up this no practice thing? It seems to be working, and probably keeps Kidd a little fresher.

If we play like this again we're going to get obliterated by the Lakers.
