Marv is a classic voice of the game.

And German pronunciation of W has a V sound to it, I believe. I think Volkswagon sounds like Folksvagon. Someone correct me if I'm wrong..

Marv Albert is my favorite announcer, he is a classic voice of the game and I like it a lot. As far as I remember he pronounces Dirk's name right.

Actually, if you were a real Dirk fan you would of saw the interview where Dirk was asked how he pronounced his last name..and he replied "Na-vit-ski".

Yeah, it's pronounced Novitzki. His school is the Röntgen Gymnasium, which is the same as a High School and Röntgen is also the guy who invented x-rays in Würzburg.

At the All-Star break, I heard him pronounce his own name NoWitzki, with a W like in "wish." Confused the hell out of me.

i'd say that marv albert can kiss my ass - but i know what he is wont to do in such a situation.

anyway - his is indeed now the classic voice of the nba. I also like his radio stuff.

Did I hear Marv and crew saying that the Mavs were being run into the ground, chasing all these wins? (The phone rang, wife picked itd up, thus could not hear the announcers.)

Marv asked Kerr about it. Kerr kinda discounted it. Marv didn't bother to follow-up with any work....like minutes played or something like that.

Kerr compared it to the year that jordan came back from baseball and they went out early in the playoffs. that he pushed the team all year long without letup until they won the whole thing. I liked that.

That's Tim Curry. He likes to dress up in womens underwear... like Marv.

The trial began on Sept. 22. In his opening statement, state attorney Richard Trodden described Marv Albert as a person who enjoyed having threesomes during his sexual encounters with the alleged victim and often enjoyed wearing women's underwear while having sex.
The salacious details here...

Is it pronounced "em vee pee" or "em wee pee"?

In German language - there is a different phonetic system for the consonants "v" and "w".

The German consonant "w" is actually always pronounced like the English "v"
The English "w" is voiced and doesnt even exist in the German phonetic System. So the "w" in the name of Nowitzki cannot have the English phonetic "w"

The German consonant "v" is actually pronounced in two different ways. 1) like the English "v" - 2) like the English consonant "f".

When i think of marv alberts voice..its sad all i can hear in my head is him going "AND DWAYNE WADE PUTS IT IN!!!!" or "WADE AT THE TOP OF THE KEY..AND PUTS IT IN!!!"

Oh but when dirk scores a bucket in the nba finals all you here from him is "And dirk with the jumper" or something like that.

I guarentee if Dirk was either black or American, you would hear marv go nuts when dirk hits a shot..just like he does every other "superstar" such as lebron james who has done nothing for his team yet, or carmello or someone of that type who is way over-hyped unlike dirk who has been to a finals and many many playoff games..but no dirk doesnt get any respect because he isnt all flashy when he scores.... the nba, nothing but retards working that whole system if you ask me.

DSRTF, you're thinking of Mike Breen. Marv works for TNT and doesn't broadcast finals games.

In this clip of the Bucks game, the announcers pronounce it like 'know-vitzki', instead of nah-vitzki.

Its kinda funny. He scored 38 that night, they got to say it over, and over, and over....
